cell phone service

Your usage will be a big factor as to whether this will work for you or not. If your usage is not too much each month then a pre-paid plan can work out quite well. We use VirginMobile for the phone my wife and I have. Similar to Henry's but we only have to pay $20 every three months instead of every two. The unused prepaid minutes roll over, so you can have low usage months that help pad the higher usage months. VirginMobile uses Sprint PCS's network I believe.

We've had great luck with it. Though we rarely use the phone, mainly for emergencies, ordering pizza while we are in the car or call home tell the other we are running a little late.

When I received the enormous bill at the end of the month, I gave them a call and explained my situation. Without hesitation, they simply said that they would "back-credit" me for that month as if I had been on a plan to cover the extra minutes.

I have a sneaking suspicion this is because Verizon is used to getting calls from customers regarding higher than normal bills.

In the two years I had an account with Verizon they overchaged us every single month. That is batting 1000, 24 for 24. Every month they would overcharge us, every month we would bring it to their attention and every month they would remove the overcharges without question.

If you are a Verizon customer I would suggets you pay VERY close attention to your phone bill each and every month.

On coverage, you don't need the service with the widest and best coverage available, you just need coverage at the places where you expect to be. While one service may have great coverage, it could also have "blind spots". So poll you friends and coworkers, ask them if they have any trouble with coverage inside the buildings where you and Mrs. Noah work, and the other places you go.

I have Verizon and am pleased with it.

My wife and I just ditched the land line and went cellular. We went with Cingular (because I had been on AT&T before then). We did the nationwide plan, so no need to worry about roaming, and they have a very good coverage map. For an extra $7/month, I bumped the nights on my wife's phone (our old home number) to start at 7pm.

I've had a great experience with Cingular.

On a serious note, the spouse-unit and I love T-Mobile.

Cingular sucks big floppy donkey @#$%!!

We went from paying close to $120 w/ Cingular to $68 w/ T-Mobile, for better service.

Everytime Cing comes out w/ something "new" we're like

"We had that months ago"

:)

I've not had any problems with Verizon. They've never overcharged me at all. And there's been only one month that I actually went over my minutes. Since I rarely use the phone, I got the smallest plan they have.
