And yeah, getting time off from work right now bad. Very bad. Situation is fluid, but it'd likely take a miracle right now.

If I was able to get time off, I'd be more than willing to run a Mallrats themed Cinematic Unisystem game.

Cool. I can tell you what I can run though. In fact, I'll toss out ideas now and people who want to play can vote for one of these two. (Since it's closer to me, I'm hoping to play in an AM game.)

Swabs

Ten minutes ago, explosions rocked the HMS Irripressible – the newest, brightest, biggest airship of the Diamond Throne’s Fleet. The Captain and the important passengers are dead. Now it’s up to you – the spare crew – the pressganged sibeccai and humans and faen. It’s up to you to find the bomber, get the memory crystal with the directions, and complete the mission. Oh, and avoid the dragons as you edge deeper into the No-flight Zone they enforced over their territories. Good thing the gas bags are still holding....

I think it is safe to say that "Swabs" is more popular than "Tastes Like Chicken". How many player slots are there for Swabs?

Yeah, that's a pretty apt description. This adventure in particular has frickin' lasers . Better make it the afternoon slot so that I can get lost six times on the way to the game day. Being new to town has its definate disadvantages.

Yes please. In fact, I should probably be an alternate for the morning since my life typically intervenes.

Ok, I'm back from GenCon and it definitely got my creative juices flowing again! I have a couple of ideas so I'll see what kind of feedback I get and what people are interested in:

Doom 3 Shadowrun - I've been working on a conversion of the Shadowun 3ed ruleset to adapt to the Doom 3 setting. It's a simplified and trimmed down version of the SR rules with rules for the traditional Doom weapons, armor degredation, etc. For those not familiar with Doom 3, it is essentially survival horror with heavy weaponry on Mars as opposed to battling hordes of enemies. This game will be complete with actual sound effects, music, and audio from the Doom 3 video game.

Grim Tales - The Mechatropolis of Blacktarn
Blacktarn is the centerpiece of my gritty homebrew vision; it is also the reason why I created my Grim Tales variant ruleset. Think the Thief video games meets Thieves' World meets Shadowrun meets 1984. It is a place of soot and grime, of ruthlessness and power, of great invention and technology, and of hopelessness and oppression. Skilled and morally-grey individuals operate in Blacktarn, for reasons which are their own or for reasons known only to those whom they sell their services. If you are so inclined, you can be one the first gamers to step foot on the ash-lined and cobbled streets of the mechatropolis known as Blacktarn.
