Chainable spells

I was thinking about the utility of the Chain Spell feat (CA) for a sorcerer, and so I tried to bring to mind all the spells I knew that could be Chained. It seemed to me that there weren't that many, but I went through the SRD and assembled a list of the spells that would be chainable. I now share that list with you, as a public service, in case you care. I've left off spells that are technically chainable but not actually. For example, Magic Jar is chainable by the description of the feat, but it wouldn't really work. Certain spells have multiple target entries. In this case I have denoted the version of the spell that can be chained in parentheses.

I would have further separated them into the useful and non-useful chainable spells. Animal messenger and animate rope.

Isn't Disintegrate chainable? Or are ray spells specifically excluded.

Ray spells are "Effect: Ray" not "Target:{creature or object}" so they're excluded by the text of the Chain Spell feat (which requires the spell to have a "Target:" entry)

Well, I did do it really stupidly late last night, so the extra work probably would have killed me. But yeah, there are a lot of spells you would probably not need to chain. Although, if you chained an Animal Messenger you could send off a flight of little birds, one to each of your party members, which might be useful, so perhaps what's useful and what isn't depends on circumstance.

And yeah, Chain Spell doesn't work on Rays or any spells that conjure something and then fire it at a target, like Melf's Acid Arrow. They don't satisfy the feat's requirements. If you want to fire multiple rays, you need Split Ray or Twin Spell.
