Chainmail: Where's the Turf?

Sigma

First Post
This question goes out to any other chainmail players. I keep seeing references to all sorts of other turf blocks, like the hut and the forest, but none of those came in my starter set. Do I need them to play, and if so, where do I get them from?

They toss a random assortment into each starter. I'm pretty sure the rules for all the terrain cards are either in the main rulebook or in "Blood & Darkness," so if you're missing one, just substitute, or roll your own!

There's a ton of 3-D wargaming terrain available out there you can adapt very easily to Chainmail. Chainmail has very simple and usable line of sight and cover rules--it's very simple to apply them to whatever terrain you want.

I'm finding Chainmail to be a very addictive game.

The rest of the terrain pieces came in the different faction boxes, two per box. All the initial terrain will soon be put up on the WotC website as a free PDF download though. Blood and Darkness, the first Chainmail guidebook, also includes two new pieces of terrain (the hissing pool and the sacred circle).

Ah! Thanks for the quick responses. I have been scouring the WotC website for a while now trying to find out if my starter set was incomplete and where to get the other pieces for an hour now.

Another quick question: I was laminating my cards and the lovely people at Kinko's managed to ruin 4 of them (a horned feldrake, two glaivers, and a human conscript). Is there any way to order new cards?

If you are looking for a cheap alternative...

This site doesn't update very often, but it is packed with all kinds of project ideas and hints, many with step by step instructions.

Terragenesis

They tend to like Warhammer 40K here, but many of the projects can be adapted easily.

WotC Customer Service may be able to help you. Try e-mailing them (custserv@wizards.com).

Ahhh, Tolen Mar, you posted my favorite gaming terrain website!

Another resource that I've enjoyed is Games Workshop's Terrain Building Book (or something to that effect). Its basically a how-to build terrain out of common household items. Pretty nice for some ideas. It's written with the beginner in mind.
