Changing Void points to...?

Nellisir

Hero
So I'm slowly working on a new campaign setting, and I'd like to include something similar to Rokugan's Void points.

Unfortunately, the setting is more Scandinavian than Asian, and there are probably legal issues with keeping the term "Void", so I'd like to switch it.

I'd also like the new term to be something the characters could conceivably refer to without totally breaking character -- thus no action points or hero points.

The best thing I've been able to come up with is Wyrd -- anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks
Nell.

Scandinavian huh, how about beer points? ;-)
You could go with a more general naming such as Fate points or Destiny points...
Wyrd points sounds good though, but its a term not everyone is familiar with.

Fate points.
Wyrd points.
Destiny points.
Action points (!)

The most important thing is the name of the feat, really. Void Use basically says you can do such-and-such X times/day, and Depths of the Void adds extra uses. So change the name of the feat to something else. I use "Tap the Virtues" and "Strength of Virtues" for my game; "Harness Wyrd" might work for a more Norse feel.

Rip off white wolf and call it a willpower point, that's easy enough.
Soul points -- sell a bit of your soul for a mechanical benefit... eh, maybe not what you're looking for.

I'm going to go with Wyrd. (I know, all this work and running around just to get back to where I started).

I was thinking of wyrd as a fixed and unchangeable destiny, which it still can be, but buying the feat Know Wyrd (Void Use) gives one a small measure of control over how the final end is reached - that's my in-character justification.

Cool. Thanks guys. Sometimes I just need to hear things talked out a little.

Nell.
