The pitch: "Welcome to Bud and Griff's Gaming Creepshow - a podcast where we talk to each other - and guests in the horror end of roleplaying - about horror gaming, while trying to have a laugh at the same time."

Here is Part Two of my interview with Bud and Griff on their podcast. I talk about some of exciting things we've got planned for Chaosium's 50th anniversary. I also divulge the one member of the Chaosium team who, long ago, Greg Stafford told the fabled Secret of the God Learners to (perhaps not who you think...)

Push the Roll
is a new Call of Cthulhu podcast starring Ross Bryant (Dropout TV, Glass Cannon Podcast) combining cosmic horror, tabletop RPG adventures, and dark comedy.

Produced by Ain’t Slayed Nobody and distributed by Rusty Quill, the series blends comedy‑horror with highwire improv in the world of Call of Cthulhu. A rotating ensemble of improvisers and tabletop favorites joins Bryant across the season, including Brennan Lee Mulligan, Ashly Burch, Becca Scott, Matthew Lillard, Colton Dunn, Abubakar Salim, Josephine McAdam, Ify Nwadiwe, Mark Meer, Rekha Shankar, Vic Michaelis, Paul Deming, Bridgett Jeffries, Brian Holland, and more.

To welcome listeners, two on‑ramp episodes are already live, What Is Push the Roll with Ross Bryant? and Call of Cthulhu and You: A Rules Primer. Gameplay episodes begin airing September 10, 2025, on all major podcast platforms.

Call of Cthulhu and You: A Rules Primer

We explain the basic rules of Call of Cthulhu using examples of play. Character sheets, skill rolls, pushing the roll, spending luck, sanity loss, and what combat really means when you’re just a fragile human in a world of cosmic horrors.

With Ross Bryant, featuring Paula Deming (Graveyards of Arkham, Call of Cthulhu Live), cuppycup (Ain't Slayed Nobody), Call of Cthulhu writer Scott Dorward, and Chaosium's own Bridgett Jeffries.

What is Push the Roll with Ross Bryant?

Each story begins with an audience inspired twist. Patreon supporters submit imaginative episode titles, and the players at the table roll dice to randomly choose one as a narrative start point. Then halfway through, Bryant “pushes the roll,” adding a second randomly selected title that upends the episode’s plot in real time. The result is unpredictable, character‑first horror told at the speed of improv.

Push the Roll is designed for both newcomers and long‑time fans of tabletop roleplaying games. Each 3-episode series stands alone, rules are explained as needed, and the format rewards drop‑in listening without giving up depth for regular listeners. Hear the series wherever you get podcasts.
