7th Sea: The Price of Arrogance
Chaosium and Studio Agate are proud to present the first major official campaign for the 7th Sea role-playing game: The Price of Arrogance!

Imagine Indiana Jones meets Pirates of the Caribbean, with a touch of Treasure Island… Adventurers will embark on an extraordinary journey, from the imperial courts of Montaigne to the sweltering jungles of the New World. A quest across Terra, fraught with pitfalls and mortal dangers, will pit Heroes against some of the most dangerous enemies to be found on the seven seas. They may discover priceless treasures… but they should be careful to keep their pride in check, for they may well pay the price of arrogance!

This campaign for 7th Sea is a 300-page full-color book featuring an epic saga in three acts and a host of gameplay options, including Paths, a system that allows each Game Master to tailor the story to their favorite play style.

The Price of ArroganceThe book is already both written and illustrated, and a Kickstarter campaign will be launched at Gen Con 2024 to offer a collector’s edition including many additional items:
  • a collection of extra adventures for the full Director’s Cut experience
  • a dedicated game screen
  • numerous game aids (maps, handouts, etc.),
  • plus a box exclusive to this campaign.
Two collector’s versions of The Price of Arrogance will be available: Montaigne and Pirate.

The Montaigne edition features an alternative cover design.

The Pirate edition comes in black faux leather, similar to the collector's core rule book that was offered during the original 7th Sea Kickstarter campaign.

The standard edition of The Price of Arrogance will be available in retail distribution in 2025.

If you are new to 7th Sea, the Kickstarter campaign will also offer core books to get you started. Join the adventure on Kickstarter:

The Price of Arrogance Kickstarter: three excerpts from the completed book

Price of Arrogance Kickstarter
Crowdfunding for The Price of Arrogance, the first official campaign for the 7th Sea roleplaying game, is live until September 6 on Kickstarter. This great adventure was written and produced by our friends at Studio Agate, well known for their award-winning games Shadows of Esteren and Fateforge.

The Price of Arrogance is all written and translation is almost finished. Over at Itch.io we'd like to share three excerpts from the book with you:

Price of Arrogance Kickstarter
  1. The first excerpt is an extract from the prologue, which describes the main inspirations and structure of the campaign.
  2. The second describes the Path mechanic. The Price of Arrogance is broken into three Paths, each one offering a different atmosphere for roleplay. While the structure of the campaign does not change from one Path to the next, many details will appear, or disappear, depending on which one you choose. This allows for one to curate the mood one wishes to create.
  3. The third is an extract from the campaign. Warning: little spoilers!
