Character Concept Ideas?

Hello again... here's a few more ideas:

  • A charismatic, friendly, intelligent, generally likable (even attractive/sexy) female half-orc. Has a class other than fighter or barbarian (or similarly combat-oriented class). Heck, I've made a pre-gen PC based off of this idea, after being inspired by yet another fantastic illustration by Claudio Pozas.
  • A half-ogre rogue. Think how amusing it'd be seeing this Large-sized wall of muscle, walking on tiptoes with his/her back hunched, perhaps even muttering/whispering "Sneak, sneak, sneak..." while attempting to Hide or Move Silently. :D
  • A goblin paladin. Geneuinely tries to do good in the world, & cares only about helping those in need. The goblin's special mount could be a worg with the Sanctified Creature template from the Book of Exalted Deeds (basically creating a Good-aligned worg).
  • An unintelligent, clumsy, unlikable, crude, crass, ugly elf or half-elf fighter (male or female). Prefers to go around dressed in heavy armor, armed with a greataxe, heavy flail, or some other massive damage-dealing melee weapon; either uses thrown weapons such as javelins or handaxes for ranged combat, or relies on using a heavy crossbow. Not necessarily Evil-aligned, but really rubs people the wrong way.
  • A rogue without a very high Dexterity score; instead, has a better Strength & Constitution score (possibly even the Toughness feat). Wears the "heaviest" sort of Light Armor possible, and uses damage-dealing weapons that can't be Finessed (like heavy maces, clubs, or morningstars). More of a "heavy," "mugger," "enforcer," or "street thug" than a stealthy or sly rogue; heck, this character could even be a sort of a "bouncer" who took up adventuring.
  • A Neutral (i.e., non-Evil) gnome hexblade (from Complete Warrior). Is strongly focused on vengeance rather than justice (thus though having good intentions, he is willing to commit questionable deeds in order to set things right--though there are some lines even he won't cross). Whether he's sick & tired of the corruption & cruelty he sees in everyday life, haunted by the murders of those close to him, or just has a "fight fire with fire" mentality, this guy definitely is the type to hold a grudge against those who've wronged him or those people, ideas, & things that are important to him.
  • A dwarven swashbuckler (from Complete Warrior). Uses light weapons such as a short sword, light mace, handaxe or throwing axe, or even a light pick, spiked chain, or sickle instead of the typical rapier. Acts just as whimsical & dashing as any other typical swashbuckler.
  • A LN hobgoblin samurai (either the Complete Warrior or Oriental Adventures version). Prefers to wear helmets/stylied masks to hide his/her goblinoid features. Is obsessed with honor, duty, & order, and can seem to be either very bureaucratic or very mercenary at times.
  • A Good-aligned aasimar barbarian. Wields a bastard sword in battle (ideally gaining a sun blade down the line). Acts along the lines of deities like Thor--full of life, tempermental, & boisterous, yet genuinely concerned about the welfare of others, and always ready to fight to protect the innocent. Is the first in line to fight off orc raiders or to slay a dragon terrorizing the countryside.

Hope this helps.

Some that I have played:

A female paladin with a 7 Int.

A gnome cleric/illusionist, who is totally into tinkering.

A sorcerer that with ranks in profession (bartending), and profession (brewer), whose sole focus was on cold-based spells.

A sorcerer with a focus on enchantment spells, and the Bluff skill - a compulsive liar.

I had another idea last night.

A giant shunned by his people soon after he was born because he was too "small" and instead raised by halflings.

A character that only speaks in questions.

I'm going to play this one sometime - someones idea stolen from another thread:

A human barbarian... he's polite, urbane and well groomed. Pay for read/write. He used to work as a guard in a big city - he's a really nice guy - apart from the demon possesing him - it whispers advice (uncanny dodge) and sometimes it takes over - (rage) RAGGGAAAAH KILL KILL... your character really fears that stuff.

...and when the demon takes over in a full rage his skin turns green and his muscles bulge...

A surprisingly buff and gruff necromancer who fights with a shovel.

I am stealing that!

A slightly nuts Human axe fighter [with the Innsmouth look] who insists on dismembering all those he kills so they don't come after him as zombies. Once he sees crawling claws[or other limb based monsters] he begins to mince his fallen foes. [yes, i played this one]

Interesting. I was reading the first few posts on this thread and thought of something similar (sans demon). Half-orc bard, with one or two levels in barbarian. Poor guy is trying very hard to get away from the "dumb half-orc" stereotype. Dresses very well, is fastidious, multi-lingual, an excellent diplomat, and so on. The only thing is that when he's in a combat situation where he's singing to inspire the party and someone hits him, he gets really, really upset!

I once played a Gungan Force Adept like that in a Star Wars game. With a genius IQ, glib tongue and sharp sense of intuition, he was more than happy to escape a "planet filled with village idiots" to go adventuring.

On another note, here are some more (bare bones) ideas.

A mute sorceror with scilence spells and ranks in perform (mime). Specializes in force effects. "I'm in a box. No, really!"

The great grandson of an Otheomancer (Dragon 317), whose family has been gifted with innate sorcerous power. However, all those in his family who haven't fully embraced their inner power eventually die when their bones liquify.

(An idea I got from the Polymorph any object description in 3.0 PHB) A pebble that was permenantly polymorphed into a halfling. Is completely enamoured by everything about life, but still takes comfort from the stone and the earth he came from. Eventually multiclasses into the Geomancer prestige class.

A (slightly insane) Psychic Warrior. Used to be a standard fighter, but was attacked by an illithid, and lost a small ammount of gray matter before he was yanked free. The resulting contact has left him with psionic ability and a little, evil voice in the back of his head.
