Character Creation

I've had several character ideas - one of which I had, for a moment, decided on... however, with the introduction of the possibility of magic and psionics, I'm back to the drawing board!!

(That does mean that I may just stick with my original idea, but we'll see...)

I'm going back towards my original concept for "Fred" and I've decided to start her out as a Smart Hero, but I'll multi to Strong soon.

Could you maybe repost Fred's details here and propose some connections to other characters?

Young John Cash

John Cash. Born in Savanah, Georgia July 4th 1859 to Sarah Cash and some unamed father. Sarah Cash was the uncontrolable daughter of Malcom Cash, a wealthy southern land owner. John was raised by his mother as she traveled the world wih various partners spending her father's money (think of Cash as a young Indy without a noble purpose). Before he turned 15, John had already traveled throughout europe, Africa and Asia. He studied Latin in Rome, learned of the anchient Pharaohs in Egypt, took in Shakespere at the Globe Theatre, was taught how to play piano in Austria, studied philosophy in Athens, ate dinner with Chinnese nobility, picked up horse riding tips form Cossacks and learned how to Gunfight in Mexico. After his mother died of Consumption in 1877, John set off on his own quest of glory, romance and Adventure.
Now, given this kind of background John could be linked to ANYONE. So tell me what you guys want to do and we can start tieing people together.

Another guideline:

A significant portion of KoA had a relatively dour feel. While there will certainly be stormclouds in the background and darkness everywhere, etc. etc....

There should be humor, too. No brooding loners, no characters so serious that they can't toss of a truly humorous one-liner in a moment of danger. Funny characters are worth keeping around - and will be favored by the GM. I don't want rampant pythonesque silliness, but I do want to be able to have someone able to say "we're all fine here, how are you?" and not have it seem out of whack.

Dark characters are RIGHT OUT. A toothy smile and a clever line are the order of the day. I'll make a mechanical benefit for it if I have to - but I'd rather not have to.

I had 2 pages of character history typed...and then my computer went bye bye. I tried to burn it onto a CD; hopefully it worked. But I don't yet know.

Please do - we're waiting to know how best to coordinate with your character's backstory. :)

ANOTHER IDEA:

Give me at least one person/group that would consider your character an enemy or obstacle - the better it is, the more likely it will be to have a plot hook attached to it.
