Character generators with Apprentice levels?

Does anyone know of any character generators that allow apprentice levels? It's quick enough I could do it by hand, but I'd like the ease of then being able to update them at will, which would be a little more work 'by hand.' Thanks all.

The problem, as I have come acrossed in the development of Campaign Suite, is 2 fold.

1) Apprentice level characters 'break' the mold of the current model for chargen. Computers, and specificially computer language, don't appreciate broken models when by definition they are very 'structured'.

2) There are no open content rules for apprentice level characters. It's presented as an optional rule, and isn't released in the SRD or by anyone else as Open Content.

These reasons have kept me from personally developing something on the matter. What I believe would be possible, personally, would be for someone to set up classes in the class editor that represent, say, a fighter at level 1/2 and a wizard at level 1/2... Then you make a 'level 2' character.

The new version of PC Gen (2.6.7) supports apprentice-level characters. It's a little rough, since this is the first version to offer that, but I suspect it will improve rapidly.

first run through it and it may be clunky. Be patient. Tell us what works and what doesn't on our yahoogroup and let us work through it with you as you try this new feature out.

Doesn't that mean seperating the apprentice-level features from the non-apprentice level ones? Sure it's easy for the ones that are given examples in the DMG, but what about other base classes in other supplements? Shouldn't be a problem with PrCs, since there aren't many you can take at first level ...

If you are doing a strictly "D&D" generator, I can see it, though.

so far we are working on those ex-apprentice levels as we speak. it's been tough but i think we might pull it off.. I think we can use any class as long as it is a 'core' type of class similar to rogue, sor, wiz, etc...haven't used it yet but so far no complaints.

ps cought your interview last nite TR!

I thought I caught your name there asking questions. Thanks for the support, it was a lot of fun.

As to the apprentice levels, that was my real concern and I didn't want to take and 'modify' anyones content - ie, change a class to create an apprentice level for it... I think I might just 'leave it alone' for now, though, maybe if someone comes out with a definitive 'rule' on converting a class to an apprentice class, we'll see :)

Good to see you guys came up with something on that, though:)
