Character Help, please?

Good ideas! Keep 'em pumping!

Hm...any guidelines anywhere for making a Summon Monster list? I know Nymabe has a Summon Dragon list, but it's a scanty one...

Just look at all the lizards types, humaniod and such, and go from there. Just add the appropriate templates where it says "Fiendish" and Celestial. Where it gives you elementals, try something like Firenewt or something like that.

I think a good combo would be sorc/psychic warrior. For one of your starter spells, go with enlarge, and definitely see if the dm will let you invent some (dragon breath, etc.)

Big question: what kind of dragon are you descended from?

Instead of getting Psy War levels, you could try to design something similar for Arcane casters. Give the Bard's Spells per Day and Spell's Known, and change the list to include buffs, more buffs, and only buffs. Then, give a class feature that reduces your Arcane Spell Failure chance, maybe, 10% at every level divisable by 5. Give him bonus feats at levels 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20, the Cleric's BAB, and a Good Fortitude save.

Do ya'll think this would be too good? not good enough? given it's own thread in House?

I don't have much to offer, but it's a delightful idea and worth at least one bump.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't try to bring the kobold up to epic proportions appropriate to a *human* -- he is still a kobold, after all, with all the inherent limitations. But that's just me. Your character, your concept.

Good roleplaying will be its own reward, not necessarily how big the numbers get on the character sheet. Even a lowly kobold wannabe-legend is going to be remembered for a long time if he's got an interesting personality. Should he fail time and time again, his few successes will still be the stuff of song and poetry for years to come.

So just make him the best kobold he can be. Keep him short and scaly and slightly inept. And put more emphasis on his natural charisma than all the other physical attributes through your own solid roleplaying.

Silly Bugaboo. Eventually you'll feel the might of a true kobold.

Since you're so small, I'd focus on mobility. Fly spells, slippers of spider climb, anything to keep you away from the nasties. Kobolds get a nice bonus to dexterity (is it +4? I forget) so focus on spells that let you take advantage of that - ranged touch spells are especially nice. Illusions and spells which debilitate or confuse enemies would also be in character for a kobold.

For the dragon stuff, you could look into eventually getting Polymorph Self and just turning yourself into a dragon or half-dragon. Elemental damage spells are nice. Meepo was always a fan of the Orb spells from Tome & Blood. I'd take a lizard familiar, or look into Improved Familiar and a psuedodragon.

The dragon disciple PrC isn't that bad, if you could talk your DM into letting you grow wings even if you're not Large. The lack of spell progression definitely hurts, however.

Mistah Midget,

Hey, if you're gonna get to use the fine, fine product of Nyambe, there's some decidedly dragonish stuff there.

First of all, you could see if the DM will let you either play a sei sorcerer straight out (they're not all that different from the PHB sorcerer with the exception of bloodline choice and some skills differences) or at least the bloodline choice. Sure, you give up a little flexibility in terms of spell choices.. but you get dragonlike abilities.

Next, perhaps try and get permission for some of the unthlatu-specific feats, or rather, both of them: Breath Weapon and Energy Resistant.

Then, sure, you look like say, a white-colored kobold, but you can breathe out a fog of ice three times per day, icewalk on the rime you create thereby over to the orc, and wallop his arse. Then, at 3rd level, an actual 3d6 breath weapon.

I love Nyambe. What a great book.
