Character Illustrations

Legend
Many moons ago, I came accross a site where had been collected a veritable plethora of character illo's and portraits, nicely divided into categories/classes.

Lo and behold, I either forgot to bookmark it, or lost it in a recent HDD crash. Phooey!

Does anyone know of said or similar sites? }:)

Might as well turn this into a real discussion: Until recently I had never really given character illustrations much thought or desire, despite my studio experience of "Show me, don't tell me." I'd write these lavish character descriptions, and they worked very well for me and, I think, for the other players. However, I lucked out recently in finding a couple of illo's for characters I was already playing, and... I've gotten a bit hooked. It's nice to have a desc, but also nice to have an image to complement the description (and my latest character sheet incarnation has a nice spot for it, so...). I'm working on a character for a new campaign, and while I have the imagery all in my mind and have transcribed it into a description, I feel the... need, almost, to find an illo to go with it.

What do you experience in your own campains? Lots of text? Illustrations? Or does the miniature make the character? }:)
