E.N. Publishing just came out with the ZEITGEIST adventure path Player's Guide, and one of the character themes in there - the Martial Scientist - mentions students at war academies writing thesis papers before they graduate. As one poster noted:
That got me wondering what other classic character optimizations and (in)famous builds would make for good theses? What would their titles be? I work in a medical library, and our public health students love their overly long and extremely precise titles.
How about Surprise and Lethality: The Value of Spike Damage versus an Assassin's Fragility against Surviving Enemies? Or Tri-Racial Statistical Analysis of Elven Accuracy, Human Perseverance, and Dragonborn Fury in Twenty Mock Engagements?
Or going back to 3e, Efficacy of Two-Bladed Sword of Composite Metals in Niche Scenarios, or "Are Those Demons or Devils?"
The Wounding Effectiveness of Stealthy Singular Rapier Contrasted with a Twin Strike of Dual Long Swords
Bwahaha. Martial Science academies = CharOp forums? ^.^
