Finist The Falcon said:I made a character based on Book of Nine Swords, and I used little index cards for the maneuvers I had access to. Tapping them or better yet flipping them over was an excellent way of keeping track of what maneuvers I had already used.
Flipping them over has the added bonus of allowing you to write down information on the back, such as ongoing effects or recharge mechanics. For instance, if you have an attack that deals an ongoing 5 fire damage, you could write on the back of the card, '5 Ongoing Fire Damage (save ends, return this card to Finist)'. Then, if you score the attack, you simply flip the card over and hand it to the DM, and now he has a visual reminder of the effect and what he needs to do each turn with respect to it. If you're worried about remembering which creature(s) the card applies to, you could put a colored token on the card, and a token of the same color on the base of each mini belonging to an affected creature.
Similarly, a DM could have 'Acid Breath (used) Recharge 5 6' written on the back of the young black dragon's acid breath card.
