One thing I don't understand is that $4.95 is just not any money at all its £2.77 how can people be complaining about that, its nothing I spend that on a pint of beer. (considering £5.50/hour I think is minimum wage at the moment in the UK)

And for the content so far it seems reasonable.

The campaign setting for Forgotten realms cost me £25 which is roughly $44.74, dungeon and dragon for a year seems better value that that book to me. £33 for the years subscription sounds like good value

*waits for the translation of $4.95 to turn to £4.95 when it hits the UK*

In San Francisco 4.95 is slightly more then what I pay for a pint as well. ($4.50) I've also paid more for a pint as well at some of the more "trendy" places. So yeah I agree it's a pretty good value to me.

Heh yeah I think £4.00 for a pint was the most (but it was Leffe) :p £4.95 for a Gin and Tonic *stops the off topicness*

Another complaint people had in the forums was that the compendium won't let you look up all the rules if you don't subscribe, um well do they expect WotC to give them the content for free? Apparently so, but its not how you run a business.
One thing I will give them is that it was annoying the barbarian playtest was hovered in the schedule, maybe not purposefully, but it was a carrot and soon afterwards they announce charging to begin soon, I really really do hope they will post that playtest article before the chargeable version hits.

Dirt cheap for me. Back when it was in print I maybe would get Dragon a month late and it was always over 8 euros. Now I get both on time for half the money? Sign me up.

$4.95/month is a good deal for me since I'm really digging the e-magazines (though Dragon much more than Dungeon) and look forward to the updated Compendium.

Dungeon has always been the less usefull of the two for me, even though I'm primarily a DM. I just don't do pre-made adventures well. So like always Dungeon is just a source of ready made maps and monsters and NPCs. The new format makes it easier to sue them for me. So- win I guess.

But, back to the topic:blush::

The price is really good. Now, if the adventures in the September Dungeon have full page, hi-res, keyed and unkeyed maps - then I'm in. If they don't, Oh Well, nice knowing you DDI but I'll be taking a pass.
