LIRR. It's within walking distance of your place, right?
Not really. We have a friend who walks it but he's certifiably crazy and it takes him an hour. However, it's only like 7 minutes (to Babylon, the line I suggest) to drive there and we will definitely pick you up, no problem.

If you have a cell and could call us once you are on the train, that would be awesome. If not, just let me know what train you'll be on and either Rob or I will be waiting at the station for you when you get off. Well, either way we'll be waiting, just good to know which train you actually make it on.

If anyone taking the LIRR needs any help reading and / or figuring out the schedule, let me know!

Well, we're about to walk 4 miles to the next town over, and we generally walk 2 miles (half an hour or so) to madwabbit's house from the metro for gaming, but at night when trying to maximize time, I think we'll give ya a call on the train. :)

Your number should be the same as on the GenCon contact list, right?

Whoa, people are coming in on Thursday night?!?

I generally always come in early. Partially cause it's just easier to take the train on thursday night than on friday (and often cheaper!), partially so no one has to leave the house full of guests at 11 pm on Friday to come get me from the train.

I usually go around with Queenie on the friday to the grocery store to get supplies and help get food ready. :) Plus, me and Queenie time!

We wanted an extra day to see NYC since we've never been there before and Queenie kindly offered to let us stay over an extra night before the gameday. :)
Of course! I'm pretty sure I mentioned it but you guys know you'll have to take the LIRR to get back into the city on Friday, right? I can drop you off at the station any time you need on Friday. I'm sure you guys will have a blast, there are a million things to do in NYC!

Yeah, I know about the LIRR, though for some reason I had thought it was within a couple miles until you clarified yesterday. On Friday, we'll either be heading out to Fire Island (damn Village People!) if the weather seems good or going back into town, but either way the LIRR would be the way to go.

I assume tickets are easy to buy at the station and don't need to be bought in advance? It seems to work just like the local commute trains here where you can buy tickets at a machine at the station just beforehand. From the pricing on the website, it just seems important to buy a ticket before getting on the train, where the price doubles.
