Check out these prices for LoTR marathon.

My friends and I all have tickets for the LA Archlight (Cinerama Dome) shows. I have to say, the price 7 tickets would fetch on ebay is a bit tempting, but still I think we will just use them and enjoy the show.

And I'm sure that the prices are going to get even more absurd the closer we get to show time. My wife asked me the other day if we really wanted to pass up at least a thousand bucks for our 4 tickets. And my response was in the form of one of those MasterCard commercials, with the final line being something like 'Getting to participate in a really cool cultural event and knowing that I'm not going to sell out to someone with more money than sense: priceless'. Of course, if it's a week before showtime, and the tickets are going for a thousand bucks a piece, well there is a point where I will turn into a raving hypocrite. :D

This is how I feel, too. I am just so excited about going that I don't really care what they're fetching on Ebay. (of course, one of the 2 people I'm going with is tempted to sell his, but I doubt that we'd get $1000 for a ticket in RI!) :p

Yep, too much movie. My ass would be asleep and I would be shifting in my seat for the last two movies trying to get comfortable.
 



This comment on eBay from someone selling two tickets was just too funny not to share:

PLEASE NOTE: The tickets shown may not be the exact tickets you receive - yours may have different ticket numbers. Also, a group of us went to Baltimore to stand in line at The Senator for tickets. We bought a few extra for family and friends here in West Virginia but when we seen how many die-hard fans were looking for tickets, some of us decided to sell ours on Ebay. As alot of us have kids and we thought the extra money could be used for TOY layaways for the holidays! Now, since everyone in West Virginia is related (yes, we're all cousins!), and since I am the only one who has a computer, knows how to sell on Ebay and can read, write, spell and type, I was chosen to put everyone's tickets on. All these tickets are not mine (darn -it!). I don't know if there will be more to sell or not. It depends on the cousins. So, enjoy the auction and have a great time at the Trilogy!

And who said people from WV were unsophisticated (and I was born right on the border).

I don't know, 400$ sounds good. It's not like one cannot go see these movies, all you're loosing is watching it back to back to back. Three tickets here runs less then 30$ so that leaves a lot of gaming books with the left over money :D
 

This may not mean much to some but getting these tickets also means getting to see the film a day earlier than the rest of the public. That is just gravy to me. I'm just looking forward to the day itself. :)

Assuming there are no stand alon midnight showings for RotK, and on that thought and news on such a thing?
