Yeah they are still around I think. The last time I read their web site it said they were looking for another supplier for their product. Its a shame because I want some more of them.

I have a factory second megamat. I couldn't tell the difference between my buddies normal battlemap and my factory second - and we we specifically looked for a difference.

In my experience, the Chessex factory seconds are 95% as good as a regular one. Usually it's because of minor imperfections or stains in the vinyl, or a slight misprint in the lines. I've never seen a factory second from them that wasn't quite usable. I've bought a half dozen over the years at various conventions.

I was afraid of this also. But I got mine maybe a year ago and am hard pressed to notice any difference, except some areas have a slightly darker creamy color than others. But it looks good.

Treebore: I looked at the Chessex website www.chessex.com and you have to call their people to order factory seconds. Quick and painless.

when I clicked on the link you provided I looked around and found this page:

They just warn that they may not have everything listed in stock. So calling would probably be the best way to go for definite results.
