Perhaps you have a new friend or co-worker who is a non-gamer?  I've never found the gamedays to be something to which I'd be embarrassed bringing a non-gamer.  The folks are nice and not at all outrageous, as can be the case at some larger events.  Folks always seem to be on their best behavior, unlike some of the home games in times past where I've played.  If you're ever going to introduce a new gamer to the hobby, it's a great place and they don't even have to necessarily be interested in the same game as you since there are so many.5.)
