I'm realy sorry I wasn't able to make it up for Game Day...it looks (and sounds) like it was a lot of fun...I've got a con down in southern Missouri this next weekend (VisionCon) and I couldn't do two weekends in a row (my currrent game group would have killed me...especially as I really stepped in it last week and wrapped up the current story arc a week ahead of time *evil grin*)... anyway, I'll keep my eyes open for teh next one and try to make sure my schedule allows for it...

Thank you again, CoC players - I had managed to block out Dude's 30 Cthulhu Mythos roll. It was the first time I had run CoC since the last Gameday, so I'm glad some of you had fun. Maybe I'll even run CoC instead of Synnibarr next Gameday :) If I do, however, I may limit it to four players, so no one ends up spending most of the game in a catatonic state (right, Josh ;) ). The next step in the ongoing campaign of The Evil Archaeology Department That buzz's "Dude" Character Can't Escape? The resurrection of Max Polish, of course :)

Later,
Matt

The Chicago Gameday was a blast. I would like to thank Mark and Matty Helms for their efforts, and Curt and Jeff for being such gracious hosts.

I enjoyed my games immensely, and particularly enjoyed playing Spycraft for the first time. The game really brought back a lot of good memories of the old Top Secret game.

Looking forward to the next game day.

Chicago Gameday Future FAQ

For those who missed the surprise announcement of the season, Mark Clover is retiring from running Gamedays and has handed the reigns over to me. Thanks for the heads-up, buddy!!! ;)

Seriously, I am excitied to help continue what Mark has started. I love the Gamedays and want to assure all of you that nothing will change - unless you want it to. These Gamedays are ultimately about each and every one of you and they should serve you, not the other way around. Feel free to e-mail me, PM me (once my darn supporter account gets activated) , or, better yet, post here with any suggestions or comments for the future Gamedays.

On with some FAQ:

Will there be any change to the schedule?
Nope. I intend on keeping the nicely spaced February, June, and November rotation already established. I will no longer be running RPG.net Gamedays to better focus my attention on ENWorld.

So, the next Gameday will be June?
Curt and I still need to work out a good date for Games Plus to host in June, but that's the idea.

Will there be any change in what games are run?
I have no clue. You all determine what games are run and I just put 'em on a schedule and act as your cheerleader. I may even run World of Synnibarr at the next Gameday if there's enough interest. :)

Will Mark be going away?
Though Eskimo-dead to me and Curt for turning his back on us, I am sure Mark will not be stranger in the future :)

Who the heck are you?
Long-time gamer and organizer of two RPG.net Gamedays, including this last joint Gameday. I have also run Call of Cthulhu d20 games at the last two Gamedays.

I think that about covers everything. Please post any comments or questions - other than that, keep your eyes peeled for the next Gameday!

Thanks,
Matt

I got quick pics of each game group for both time slots. Mark pretty much covered it though. :)

I'll be happy to forward my pics to Morrus, or another moderator for the photo album. My nine pics total about 550k in JPEG format.

Meet Thalmin (aka Curt, part owner of the store), our gracious host at Games Plus. Here he sits in his natural environment. Note the two coke bottles...he's in it for the long haul, baby! Also note the deep grin of satisfaction on his face as he peers deeply into the mysteries of ENWorld (or he could be in an AOL chatroom picking up chicks, I dunno)! :) Hehehe!

I assume there will still be RPG.net Game Days... but will they continue to be combined with ENWorld ones? I like the idea of mixing up the D&D and the Nobilis players. :)
