Chicago Gameday - The Aftermath!!!!

And a bump in the night...

Also, there should be some of the RPG.net people showing up pretty soon - and possibly another special game being run - details as they firm up.

Thanks,
Matt

Put me into Mark's afternoon game (if he'll have a damned hooligan like me in his game, that is... :D) and I'll be running the Whispering Woodwind in the AM slot.

What the heck, sign me up for breakfast too.

I should imagine Mark's little teaser from his site should be sufficient for my game description. Let's go for 6 players just so there's plenty of room....if more or less want in, that's just fine. Well... maybe not MORE....but less would work.... i'm rambling now.

The Whispering Woodwind
Summary: What does a twenty year old wrecked ship and an exquisite musical instrument have in common? You'll have to catch up to a certain bard to find out but there may be other old secrets that need to be dealt with before all is done! A truly great adventure written by our own Mark Clover!

DM: Trevalon Moonleirion

Seats: 6

OK, you're signed up - and as long as you're signing up for everything the Gameday has to offer, I feel like I should try selling you something :)

Thanks,
Matt

I hesitate to ask this, seeing as it goes against how sign-up has been handled in the past, but...

Is it really a good idea to let people start signing up for games before we even know what games there are to choose from?

I'm interested in Mark's viking game and Matt's Synnibar, but I'd really like to know what other choices there are before I commit. I don't want to leave anyone hanging (or miss out on a sopt) becasue something came up later that I prefer to play in.

Just a thought.

Well. I don't see a whole lot of people signing up (other than myself at least, and I'm special, so leave me alone damnit! :D) but for the people that do sign up very early... well it's their problem if something else they like shows up while the list of games is still being put together. It's ultimately up to MattyHelms as to how he wants to handle things though.

That's just it. I would if there were more than 4 out of 12 slots scheduled.

For the record, right now I would sign up for Mark's game in the morning and Matt's in the afternoon. If mgrasso or someone opts to run d20 Modern, though, I may have to jump ship. :)

Don't sign up for my games if you have any intention of jumping ship. You sign up for one of my games, you play in one of my games. You jump ship on one of my games, you won't be playing in any game I run ever again. I, DM. ;)

You sign up early and play what you're in, or you wait and take your chances that the game you would have liked to play in will be full by the time you feel you can commit. Tough call to make but please don't screw over a DM by dancing from game to game.

Ergo, my emphasis on the word "would." :) I wouldn't really jump ship.

I guess I'll just wait a bit then, though you're kinda scaring the crap out of me, Mark. Maybe I won't play in your game after all! :D

I run a scary game and they are not for the timid... :p

(I know better than to think you'd take me seriously. That bluster is just for the peanut gallery... :D )

Did I say that aloud...?

Sorry for the late response, people.

Changing games has ruffled too many feathers in the past, so I'm going to say no to it for now. I know the players dropping out of a game aren't intending any harm, but I don't want to see games emptying out at the last minute and leaving a GM who has spent weeks or months preparing suddenly left with nothing to do.

It may be best to wait for the game you want before signing up for something else. Heck, even run it yourself. My first GMing in a few years was the the d20 Cthulhu games at the past few Gamedays. Anyway, while you run the risk of missing out on a game by waiting, it's probably better to only sign up for what you really want - and most GM's are flexible about the number of players and may go over what their original limit was if you ask nicely.

As always, let me know any questions or concerns.

Anyway, buzz - let me know if you want me to sign you up for anything. I'd love to have you in my Synnibarr game, but will understand if you want to hold off for now. I haven't heard from mgrasso at all, so I hope he does show up to run some d20 Modern.

And, Mark - you, sir, are the true King of Hardcore. People, imagine if he was still running the Gameday!!!! :)

Thanks,
Matt
