As for this Chinese Rover, the human crew should monitor the tracks it leaves as there is a possibility that it will send a message to them (especially if it is disgruntled). That Martian image was not a mistake.

No. For the Firefly setting to become a possibility, it requires terraforming technology. Once we transform Mars into a world with its own atmosphere and environment, then the Firefly will become possible.
