I'm taking a level in fighter to get some feats, so calm down. ANYway, I had a bow-exclusive character in mind, so when you thrust Stormbrand to me, I was just like ".....are insulting me by saying that I'll need this?" Now I have to branch off into a sword/bow type character. Damn ye.

Nice touch with the Sean Connery voice, Cpt. Originality.;)

I meant your swords IRL.

And me, Captain Originality? What about you, Mr. "OK, I'm gonna play an elf, and he's at home in the woods. But here's the really great part: he's got a name that I bastardized from Tolkien, and he's really good with a bow."

Polearm ~ Halberd?

My favourite weapon has got to be the Halberd. I've really no reason for the choice other than the fact that I think they're neat.

Come to think of it, my choice must be a throwback from my Warhammer Fantasy Battles days...

All hail Emperor Karl Franz! :D

For purely munchkin reasons, the scimitar. By 10th level or so, the extra point of threat range is significantly more powerful than the extra point of damage.

How in the world you neglected to put the Scythe on the poll, I'll never understand. Of course, I still don't understand why everyone doesn't use one, either.

:)

Ok. So I was joking. In all seriousness, my favorite weapon says a lot about my preferences in a lot of areas. It's the Dwarven War Axe.

"An' if ye ain't got any respect fer a dwarf wi' an axe, yer not gonna be missin' yer brains much after I carve 'em outta yer skull, seein' as yer not really makin' very good use o' 'em anyhow!"

Ummmmm.....lemmee see..... The FRANCISCA!! Yep. That's it!

However, for a 1st level character, I dunno if you can beat the morningstar. It's cheap and it is a bludgeon/piercing weapon, so you aren't stuck dealing half damage to those pesky skeletons.

If I'm playing D&D and a fight breaks out, I tend to either go for the sharpest four-sider in the room, or a pencil. The heavier minis can also do some damage if flung accurately.
