Christmas play?

Well, actually pre-Christmas play. Anyone up for gaming on Sunday, Dec. 23? I'm planning on running my D&D game, or possibly superheroes, depending on the number of people who can make it. How about on New Year's Day again? Anyone up for that?

Can't game on the 23rd... :( New Years Day sounds good. Not sure if we're doing NYE boardgames this year or not.

What about this Saturday? It's the normal day for gaming this week...

No interest in I Am Legend. No interest in super heroes or role playing. I am up for boardgames this Saturday, but something tells me this will go nowhere! ;) No Festivus miracles this year, I fear...

I am totally up for some New Years Eve games, though... anyone?

If we're not gaming Saturday, does anyone wanna go see 'I Am Legend'?

I just went yesterday with the kid and saw it. Wow. We really enjoyed it. I haven't seen a horror movie in a while (I have no patience for hack and slash movies) so it was fun to actually get scared again. And we cried. There were some truly touching scenes in it. Stupid movie.

Now, a movie called "The Last Man on Earth" sounds so much better than "I Am Legend". The title instantly threw me off. It just seemed so... Hollywood or something. Maybe it's a good movie! I bet Vincent Price did it better, though! :)

Well, it was the actual name of the novel.

"I am Legend" by Richard Matheson (1954), novel. This is a landmark novel in terms of Vampire Literature because it was one of the first to try and scientifically explain vampirism. It inspired George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead."

"The Last Man on Earth" starring Vincent Price (1964), b/w movie (script by Richard Matheson). This is a fantastic movie. It really haunted me when I saw it as a child.

"The Omega Man" starring Charlton Heston (1971), movie (script by John William and Joyce Corrington). I haven't seen this version; it deviates substantially from the source material.

Now, "I am Legend", with Will Smith (2007). I am looking forward to seeing this one.
