I wonder why they insist on using the "25mm" descriptor, when they will most likely be between 28-30mm like all their other 25mm stuff? Anyway - I might pick up come of them - the green of the chick with the shotgun looks sweet!

Thanks for posting this...

It's about time. :) This will work for so many gaming systems, from Traveller to Deadlands to D20 Modern to whatever, since this is an area of minis that has not really been exploited at the "25mm" scale. I've always wanted to see a D20 Modern/D20 Future line of minis, and it looks like this will meet my diverse non-fantasy needs.

With Regards,
Flynn

Is that a chick? The face looks awfully masculine - looks to me a little like Val Kilmer (though this is pretty common with minis, I guess faces are hard to sculpt)

(They should have also called this their "John Woo" line, since everyone seems to have a gun in each hand)

"25mm heroic scale" was coined to convince retailers to carry a line on minis that had no hard scale guidlines.

"25mm Heroic scale" is meaningless adspeak, like calling a 72 ounce Super Big Gulp a "24 ounce Heroic size drink". Just because you call it 24 ounces doesn't make it 24 ounces.

This is from the big guy himself (Reaper Ed):

Scale is 25mm Heroic scale. Traditional 25mm meant that all characters PC's etc were exactly 25mm. We broke that tradition with Tall short Giant and larger than life figs in addition to traditional 25mm figs. Although the term used is 25mm, the true base scale is actually 28mm to fit in with the more modern figs. At the time we chose to use 25mm Heroic Scale as a term, no one understood or knew what 28mm scale figs were, and we lost sales because dealers thought it was a new scale and would not fit in with existing inventory.

There you have it. Dark Heaven Legends is 25mm. Warlord is 25mm Heroic scale which is a term used to encompass our larger than life heroes (a gorgeous line, IMHO).

I'm pretty sure the gigantic cleavage was the giveaway on that one, yeah.

There are only 5 sculpts in that link, not an entire line, and two of those have rifles. I'd say it was a bit early yet to pass judgement on the line. Personally, I think this line will be great. Reaper is my favorite minis company, and this is just the sort of area where they could branch out and open new (sub-)markets in this niche field.

I've seen one with a sword in one hand and a gun in the other that is decidedly non-"John Woo" (but since he isn't in the public announcement I assume it won't be in with the first releases). There are also teases of "chainsaws and baseball bats and the like" (but I haven't seen those pics).
