"Hmm, what's this? Sounds a bit more interesting than killing pests." The katara gets up and walks towards the newcomer at the bar. "You. You're looking to hire some protection for this man, yes? I am Lookspring and my bow and blade are for hire."

Very good. I am prepared to offer a fair payment for a safe delivery of this man, and this could lead to a future offer as well. He is in trouble although he may not be aware due to his condition, having had too much drink. I think a quiet stealthy retreat to a safe location is best. We do not want the people that would harm him to know where he is or whom has helped him.

For the payment. I am prepared to pay each of you 200 gold for delivery of this man with a bonus if he is in good shape.

Verrick finds that people are pretty much the same everywhere

Well sir, this would not be the first time that I would have been called upon to rescue someone that has not exercised due wisdom. Furthermore, I prefer stealthy and quiet.

What is this man's name and where can we find him? More importantly, who are the people that threaten him, what kind of danger do they present, and how can we recognize them?

OOC: I hope I am not rushing things ahead too quickly.

The mans name is Uggla, he is a sailor wearing a yellow sash. He has been visiting many establishments in the docks district. He was last at the "Snooty Pig" a tavern which is near the slums. I have a warehouse not far from there where we can take him for now.

ooc: I will give it til monday to see if any others are interested, but the two of you could pull handle this.

Sitting in the corner of the RDI are two halflings (a male and a female), looks like they have freshly come from some sort of fire by the looks of their clothes.

The eldest of the two (the male) gets up and comes over to the boy...

Greetings! I am Ray, <points the the pretty female halfling in the corner> over there is Pinkie.

Couldn't help but hear your plea, the two of us would be glad to help. I am a barrister by profession and together with my partner we are "problem solvers" we have no shortage of information gathering skill.

Of course we have talents that lie both inside and outside the law if you know what I mean.

What is your offer boy?

When Ray points at her Pinkie gets up to approach the boy....

She stands, straightens her dress (torn and soiled from the fire such as it is) and moves with grace across the room.

Ray, what do we have here a job offer of sorts....

Gentlemen, pleased to make your presence - I am Pinkie and my rather forward partner here is Ray.

We are indeed as he says "expert problem solvers" - traps, trails, leads, documents, goods information, and even as the case here seems...the ever popular missing persons.

[sblock=Pinkie and Ray]

Pinkie is my daughters character, she will be playing but is asleep right now we'd like to stay together on what will be her first adventure. We are both Rogue 1's.

Lookspring turns an appraising eye on Verrick. "Very well, it seems that we will be working together. I hope you know which end of the sword to point away from you." He looks towards the two halflings approaching, his ears flicking back slightly. "And some others as well. At least we're not splitting the bounty and the advantage of numbers would be a welcome change of pace.

In which we must wonder whether Verrick has ever used a sword.

No, sir

It is obvious that Verrick is not quite sure how to address a katara.

I noticed when you first entered the Red Dragon. You said that you are a master of the bow. I have always favored the longbow myself; however, while I am within the city, I will stick to my staff. I doubt the city watch would appreciate the use of projectiles or swords.

Verrick acknowledges the presence of the two haflings and says.

It is good to meet you.

Turning to the young man, Verrick continues:

As for myself, I am willing to accept the commision to find and protect this imprudent sailor. My I ask the name of my employer?

"Looks like you could use a little more muscle for this operation, just in case things go badly.", volunteers Phoenix as she walks up to the group discussing this job. "I could help ya out in that department, as Lookspring here can vouch for."

A little muscle is good indeed my lady -

Pinky bows and reaches for her hand to kiss it, if she offers it, which is the custom when meeting a lady in parts of the city...

She takes a moment to regard her as if in appraisal. (if you sense motive it seems quite professional)

I imagine you have some experience in combat then my lady?

I would gladly have one so lovely as you in company on any trial.

Young man...befire I would undertake any deal consider that my partner is a barrister I am afraid I must have some kind of contract in writing...

I am fairly certain that unless you are of age, doing business with a writ of apprentice from your master, or the head of a household you can't sign such an agreement....

In the absence of such a contract I would gladly have my partner draw one for us for a nominal fee of course - say 5 sp for such a simple contract.

Oh and I'd like to see the coin please or the mark of credit for it in its stead...

HEr partner Ray starts scribbling on a piece of parchment (which he always has for such occasions) he had in his belt...

As I told the others I am prepared to offer 200gp each on delivery with possible bonus if he does not need healing or any other services when he is delivered. At the least I need information from him and this information could lead to further employment if all goes well.
