ooc- i think our adventure is paused. so my guy is going to head back to the tavern. perhaps he and the paladin and the new human can all team up.
for strange doings

Suddenly the door to the Red dragon inn bursts open and a man dressed in black somewhat expensive looking enters. taking a quick look around at the inside of the inn he pick a few notable patrons from the crowd and makes a few mental notes about them. not saying anything he briskly walks over to the bar and waves joe over to him. Seeing a look of urgency in his eyes joe immedially comes over and lends the man his ear. nodding and saying a few curses in a whisper several times. it seems that the man is asking joe for permission to make an announcement. seeing joe give an approving wave the man turns around and draws in a quick breath. eyeing the patrons of the inn once more quickly he raises his arm and calls attention to himself.

"GOOD DAY TO ALL OF YOU. I am Manon Lazarus, currently I seeking a few stout hearted patrons to aid myself and my companions, and some farmers in dire straits."
the man shouts in a calm and smooth voice. Seeing a few heads turn he continues. "There is a small farming community nearby that has recently come across some troubles, one of their families has been attacked and is seeking someone to investigate and protect them as necessary." hesitating for a moment the man goes on and says in a darker tone "we believe there may be foul magics or perhaps...undead...involved." he stops speaking to let the crowd absorb the words, seeing a few people in the inn immediatly duck their heads back down over their drinks upon hearing about the undead, manon sighs and hopes that there are a few brave compassionate souls in the inn. "i knew this wouldnt be easy" he says in a whisper lowering his arm. "I will only stay here as long as i can, the journey to the farm is 2 hours from here at a decent pace. I intend to return before dark. currently we have planned to aid the farmers by scouting out the surrounding area, but there is much area to cover. The farmers themselves are....as i said, ill equipt to defend themselves, let alone support mercinaries." he says in what he believes to be a tactful way of saying they are poor farmers incapable of paying much. "As i mentioned, i plan on returning to the farms before sundown. if anyone of noble spirit would accompany me, please i will linger here for only an hour or 2 at best." with that manon turns around and orders himself a glass of elvish wine to soothe his throat after the speech. sipping the wine he pauses and whispering to himself says "i hope theyll be alright out there without me. i have a bad feeling about all this."

ooc- ok long rant there by me but im quite proud of it. anyways currently myself and some other players have been on the farm but there seems to be quite a long time between posts so i felt it was necessary to come back and get some more help. liquidblue is the DM so im sure the recrutiment will e up to him im just doing what i think my character would do in the situation. so i hope im not stepping on anyones toes. if the DM could pst the appropriate info that would be great. OK PEACE OUT ill be here

Jallembo was still day-dreaming about these 1000gp when the door opened rather abruptly.
He checked the man and thought he had some fine-looking clothes on.
He listened to his announcement but a few points made the whole story rather un-enticing..
farmers?... they won't pay.. undeads?.. hate those..
He didn't think it was a job for him really. Leaving the city for the mud of countryside was not
tilting the proposal in the man's favour neither.
However, the sound of the very last few coins left in his pockets and the expensive clothing
of the stranger overtook rather quickly his worries and he decided to go and talk to him.

He walked quietly to Manon, glancing at his posture and equipment and introduced himself,
smiling: "Hello there.. Err, my name is Jallembo.. I've heard your story and I could be interested..
I'm quite good at finding stuff or protecting people.. my line of business really...
Err, however, I'd need to know a little bit more, and.. in particular.. err.. what the pay and
terms would be..? Eh eh.."

Garrit Kelspire, Paladin 2 of Hyrag

"Sir Lazarus, I am up for the challenge," he says, standing.

He approaches Jallembo. "Greetings, I am Garrit Kelspire, servant of Hyrag," he says, extending a hand.

Jallembo turns to check the newcomer. "Hi, err.. hello. Jallembo, servant of..
err.. actually just call me Jallembo.."
he says with a slightly embarassed smile whilst
shaking Garrit's strong hand.

Turning from his drink which he has been nursing for wuite some time, Manon is quite pleased that he managed to find someone willing to help. or at least curious about the prospect. Upon seeing jallembo approach him, Manon turns his back to the bar to keep the man fully in his view. "Speak easy my friend i can answer all your questions easily enough. First of all the terms are pretty simple as it seems. they are having some unexplainable troubles, our cleric believes the undead were involved. They really just need someone to watch out for their safety and if need be eliminate the danger for them. as for the pay.....well it's negligble really, they are farmers and as i said they cant really afford mercinaries, they are simply asking for help. Of course there is always the prospect of finding bounty and opportunity along the way"
with that manon draws forth his glass of wine and finishes it off. "ill have to keep my eyes on this one." he thinks to himself and smiles "so....jallembo...interested?" he asks

Seeing the paladin show up is a sign of good fortune to manon, who recognizes that this person might be of some especially if there ARE undead involved. Bowing deeply as the paladin approaches manon replies "Honor and faith be with you servant of Hyrag. i Have heard stories of your order battling the undead. if any are involved we would be most grateful to have you accompany us." smiling manon looks at both men in turn and repeats himself to Garrit. "i was just telling jallembo here that the people who are asking for aid are farmers. as such they have little to offer in the way of riches. will you help us and them?" he looks over both men briefly studying their equipment.

ooc- well it seems we have 2 new recruits here. if they are interested and the dm approves i will lead them back to the farms.

ooc - I take it that this ongoing adventure currentl holds lvl 1 characters, right? In other words: i don't really think Talbin, being lvl 3, would be the man for this job. Right?

Jallembo withhold from frowning at the lack of clear financial rewards but his instinct tells him to
follow that stranger. And he didn't feel going back to Maggie's and hear her shout at him for the
rent..
He replies to Manon: "Well, I say, with a knight of Hygar and my investigative skills, you've found
yourselves two capable companions! Ah ah ah!!.."

He raises his glass and drinks before saying: "Hum, where exactly are these farmers based?
I'll need to get myself organized.."

[sblock=OOC to Manon] i can't find your character sheet.. what are you playing?[/sblock]
