OOC: I'm looking forward to Galwynn resisting the urge to strange Keldar, sometime in the near future.
OOC: Me too. They could get a good 'Odd Couple' thing going. I'm sure Keldar can play nicely with others when he needs to.

Keldar leans back in his chair. "It seems we have plenty of volunteers to find the missing boy," he says, to anyone who still pays attention to him. "Keldar usually comes in to save the day at the last moment, so I will let these adventurers try their luck first. Perhaps if they've not found him in a few days, Keldar will take matters in hand. You should check the harbour for a body... I mean, anybody who might have seen him. Boys like ships. Perhaps he wants to run away to sea."

Sammy shakes that paladin's hand in a manner that tries to be firm but doesn't quite cut it. "Pleased to meet you, Rapture," she replies with a smile. "We didn't really talk about it, my parents don't like talking about their pasts that much. But as far as I recall, it was somewhere far to the south, in the lands of the Negative Tower. And don't think he was a part of it," the will to protect her father's reputation raises her voice. "He was there to learn about their magic so he could use it against them later on. My Dad's a Hero." Strangely enough, she pronounces the capitalisations.
"M'lady, I'd be loath to call anyone who followed her a hero, but some get a second chance, and perhaps he took his," Rapture says, a bit of the initial surprise and anger in her voice gone. "Not everyone willingly worships the gods either."

Rapture sighs, seemly upset at something, but unable to verbalize it. "I'm sorry m'lady for my outburst. I was too quick to judge. It won't happen again. I'll leave you be."

Rapture heads back to Keldar's table, grabbing a glass of wine from a passing server before she stops herself. She sets her glass down and then takes her seat again, and says quietly to no one in particular, "I've made such a fool of myself."

Richard turns from his friends at the mention of Goblins... looking the crowd over, he sees several young fighters and other adventurers that look interested. Leaning back on the bar, the young warrior decides to let another whet their talents... ' 'sides, Rinya'd be mad if I took off without her... and I'd just as soon avoid that if possible.'
A lopsided grin forms at this thought and he returns to wondering if Lasair could lend aid...

OOC: Okay, I think I have a good group, here:

Auric Neuman, Psychic Warrior 1.
Cepheus Boomhill, Rogue 1/Ranger 1.
Aiken, Rogue 2.
Solange Shepherd, Cleric 1 (almost 2!)

Leaving me one slot open for Conuld, Tommy, or Pendrake. You guys can figure it all out between you, or I could determine the slot randomly.

Also, I should note for players in Blacklily Violence that this adventure occurs roughly three weeks after Blacklily Violence. Just so you don't get thrown off or anything.

Marissa receives the money from Richard, and her eyes swell up like saucers. "This is... this is too much! I haven't seen so much money in my lifetime!" She smiles weakly, and puts the money in front of her. "There. The reward just raised by fifty golden crowns!

She is amazed at all the people willing to help her, and begins to speak. "Tomas is a lot like his father used to be, before he started drinking and got stabbed in a bar fight, bless his soul. Tomas is a bit, well... wild. And friendly, and charming! All the other kids want to play with him, too! He's something of their leader, I think. The boy has a future, if I can keep him safe long enough!

No, he's always getting into trouble. Mostly, it's little things - he got caught in a windowframe once; he and his friends were playing 'watch and robbers' and Tomas was trying to sneak into an old warehouse before he got stuck. Took three men to pull him out!"
She lets out a giggle, and then starts crying once more. After a few moments (and Joe putting his arm around her comfortingly), she carries on.

"One thing he always does, though, is come home at night. The streets are scary, and he well knows it. But, he didn't come home last night. And with all these rumours of goblinfolk on the street... I just know he's in trouble!"

She wipes her face. "Tomas usually plays in Merchants Avenue, with some of his friends. He's only ten years old, and looks a lot like me - Fair hair, skin, and brown eyes. His best friend, Hukk, is twelve years old and kinda dirty-looking - he's usually not very far from Tomas' side, and I haven't been able to find him either!"

She pushes the money forward. "I know you adventurersome types usually take jobs for hundreds of gold crowns, but this is all I've got." She shoots a smile of thanks at Richard."Sixty gold, split five ways, is a lot less than what yer probably used to, but I hope it's enough to convince you to look for my boy...?"

At that, Marissa starts crying once more.
Solange warps a comforting arm around Marissa ""Don't worry ma'am. We're decent folk. Money ain't a problem, it's yer child. Sometimes the wild'ns need someone ta herd 'em in. 'ill be fine."

"A few weeks ago, I remember hearin' rummors 'bout some odd creatures near Merchant's Ave. Thought it might be related to the 'lilys, but I ain't seen nothin' ta connect 'em yet. Wouldn't surpise me if it 'er goblins thare though. Pro'lly worth a looksee. I kin ask the woman I met before 'bout her friend again, and maybe talk to 'er this time."

[sblock=ooc]Woho! Sounds good. I didn't try a roll because I'm untrained, but I did hear that rumor before... :)[/sblock]

"Mayhap your mind magiks could aid her Lady Lasair?"

(OOC: Unfortunately, he doesn't want a level 4, so I've just been keeping Lasair quiet ;) Of course, now if you ask for money from Lasair, it's going to look to her like you were just regifting it :\)

But as far as I recall, it was somewhere far to the south, in the lands of the Negative Tower. And don't think he was a part of it," the will to protect her father's reputation raises her voice. "He was there to learn about their magic so he could use it against them later on.

(OOC:  Alright, if anyone ever continues El Jefe's old task and comes through this thread to pick up setting info therein, and you need to resolve the conflict--as the creator of the goddess, including fluff that directly contradicts that, and someone planning to use her in adventures, the correct solution is that the above information is inaccurate)

Recruiting: Notes on the Aether

A robed young man walks in the door. He passes joe a heavy sack and turns to the patrons.

"Well, I'm no good at small talk, so I might as well cut to the offer. I'm Rilithorne's assistant, and we have a slight problem. We were supposed to get a delivery of some notes from a friend of his a week ago, and they haven't shown up. Rilithorne hasn't the time to go talk to the guy in person, and I'm needed to maintain the binding that keep the tower running. So, basicly we're paying good money for some people to to ride down to Grenton, pick up some notes, and bring them back. Of course, there is the slight issue of the guy on the other end of the run being a reckless conjuror, and the leftovers from the incident with the kobolds, but that's why were hiring adventurers instead of some guy with a horse. Any takers?"

He takes a seat near the bar.

Keldar, whose thoughtfulness seems to vary with the attractiveness of the subject, does this time pat Rapture's arm. "No," he says. "I'm sure you haven't. I didn't notice. Anyway, once or twice, I've made a fool of myself, you know, and I got over it with little harm done."

He looks around as the young mage comes in. "Here, Rapture," he says. "Maybe a pleasant trip through the countryside is the thing for you. I would be pleased to accompany you. And - " he flips on a mischievous grin - "the job of errand boy sounds perfect for Galwynn!"

Rapture clasps Keldar's hand and smiles, "Thank you. I can't blame her for how I was raised, nor her parent's indiscretions. Just as I'd have no one judge me on my past."

Rapture seems a bit less upset than before, and her stiff polish and grace seem to have melted away a bit. Certainly, she seem a bit more genuine at the moment.
