Without posting the entire description verbatim, the +2 weapon enhancement "Transmuting" essentially allows the weapon to bypass the DR of a creature for the 10 rounds following the round during which a successful hit is made on said creature by assuming the properties necessary to do so, but only for the purposes of bypassing the DR. That much is clear enough. My question relates to the last line of the description:
A transmuting weapon does not gain any other benefit of the properties it takes on, and it always deals normal damage.
What does "it always deals normal damage" mean? Does this mean that the weapon never crits and/or loses damage from it's other enhancements or does it mean that the weapon functions as normal (including being able to crit), except that it ignores the DR on those 10 rounds and gets no special damage from the assumed anti-DR properties it takes on for that time?
I assume the latter, but I'm not sure what is meant by "normal damage".
Anyone with a better knowledge of the rule language able to clarify for me?
Thanks in advance
