Class balance for E6 game

I'll have to think more about the DR and similar stuff. At the moment I'm planning for most opponents to be Animal and Undead (aboveground), and Aberration (underground) types. Plus lots of other Humans, of course. So DR shouldn't be too much of a problem. However, some Constructs will likely pop up from time to time.

Thieves' guilds? Heck yeah, haven't thought of that yet... :devil:

Undead and Aberrations tend to be the hardest to deal with at lower levels. Even skeletons and zombies have DR/something... and Aberrations tend to have a large array of special attacks/defenses that low-level PCs may not be able to counter.

Be very careful with the monsters you choose.
 

Sure enough, Skellies and Zombies have DR, but at least it's bypassable by non-magical weapons just fine, which is the important point in a low-magic world.
Aberrations will likely not be encountered until the PCs are 4th+ level, since I'm not planning on many subterranean adventures till then. But you're right, those guys often sport some pretty scary special abilities, especially on the mind-affecting front. If all you have to keep you safe is your will save, then that sucks. I'll have to keep that in mind when designing encounters.
