Well, if you just want a high damage bruiser and are limited to core, Ogre isn't too bad... +10 str and large size for 4 HD and +2 LA. If the game starts high enough for you to play that.

Even more extreme...Werebear at 6 HD and +3 LA (or +2 for afflicted) for +16 str. And you can apply Lycanthropy to an Orc for a total of +20 str.

Well, Dandu, one of my favourite characters is known as Fang.
He is a Druid-Barbarian-Warshaper-Bear Warrior who became a god
I was merely commenting that if you like big hulking creatures who are barbarians than Ogreon is a great way to go.

StreamOfTheSky and Tovec, I said PHB only because my friend who is DMing made his own variant of DnD and im playing that. It's basically the same and he's pretty lineant so I just wanted to do something different. Tovec we start at level one, but like i said we are playing a variant of DnD that my friend made up so no matter the level all input is great. I asked these questions based on 3.5 because that's what he uses as a reference but he changed a lot of things so anything is possible.
