D&D 5E Classic or just plain brilliant adventures/modules

I'll add yet another recommendation for B10 Night's Dark Terror. And yes, it does work best if you use its setting rather than trying to make it fit elsewhere.

Also N1 Against the Cult of the Reptile God, B7 Rahaisia, and the U1-3 series. And UK4 When a Star Falls.

I can vouch for all of these but the last, which I don't own. I ran B7 and B10 back in the day. B10 fits great if you use the Gazetteer GAZ1 Grand Duchy of Karameikos (not surprising considering the Gazetteer pulled much of its information from the adventure). I bought N1 and U1-3 recently U1 is dynamite and easily one of the most fun 1st level adventures I've ever read or run. U2 is... not as good. But U1 is good, clean fun!

Since nobody has mentioned them, I would like to share some love for some of the TSR UK range of AD&D modules, which had some of the best story adventures around at that time IMO.

The two-parter The Sentinel and The Gauntlet.
The magical When a Star Falls (neat mechanic at the start gives everyone fragmented memories of a monk from the monastery which helps in the adventure later, plus lots of flavour)
The classic Dark Clouds Gather (c'mon, how many adventures were you get to invade a cloud giants castle IN THE CLOUDS!)

I see that Piratecat has already mentioned Of Sound Mind which was a rollicking fun game. Perhaps harder to convert without any psionic rules in place, but still very worth while.

Some of the original 3e adventure path adventures had some great frameworks - the town based one in Brindenford (Speaker in Dreams) would be a good one - the adventure as written had problems, but it gave enough of a framework for a really good adventure to be run there (changing the evil casters at the bookshop to a cabal of Elder God warlocks would be a great touch, for instance).

I've never been impressed with grindfests or deathtrap dungeons, and don't consider them classics. YMMV.

The first adventure in the Savage Tides path has Sasserine, which is a great city setting. I wish they had done a whole AP there.

PS

That's what I am doing right now for 5e. PCs just arrived last session, and are on first mission to recapture a ship in the harbor. I may have to do a mash-up with Gardmore Abbey.

I was going to run the Gauntlet and Sentinel. YEs, they were great. Fun to read and good art.

Does anyone else get utterly overwhelmed by all the adventure material out there? I do. I don't know where to start. I'm planning on running Ravenloft I6, but i know i'll be missing out on something else awesome too.
