Yes, it is necessary, in my not so humble opinion.

1 arrow per round with your modest BAB, modest Str, and no Weapon Specialization may be good enough at 2nd or even 4th level, but it will be basically worthless by 5th or 7th level.

If you are not going to be loosing 2 arrows (or more) you probably should be casting a spell instead. Even the lowly Bless or Bane is likely to be more helpful to the party then 1 arrow at 1d8+4 damage or whatever.

In fact, I would say you should definitely get Rapid Shot by 3rd level, and then you need to save your money and get Boots of Haste by ~8th level so you can get up to the 3 or 4 arrow per round ASAP.

This isn't core, but see if your DM allows it, it's from Dragon Magazine #304 or Dragon Compendium Volume 1

this is only if you want to go down a different route than zen archery

DEAD EYE

Prerequisites: Dex 17, Point Blank Shot, Weapon, Focus (any ranged weapon), base attack bonus +1.

Benefit: add Dex bonus to damage rolls made with ranged weapons for which you have the Weapon Focus feat, when your within 30 ft of the target.

Note: Base Attack Bonus was changed from 14 to 1 in the Dragon Compendium errata

divine agility and divine might are good togheter...
Someone know how to create a composite bow +5, or +6 ???
My DM said that only giants have this kind of bow =\
