Clerical Crafting worth it?

First Post
I was thinking of making a cleric that could make magic items. But most of the items i wanted require Wiz spells to make. Is there any decent items i can make with a cleric? Be it armor, weapon or wonderous.

THe cleric in my game has found crafting wands to be awsome. But it really depends on the DM I think. I allow casters to come up with neat items using their spells they have and work with the PC to get use out of craft feats. But if all you are doing is shopping from the DMG it will be more limited.

Holy weapons pretty much require a cleric with the good domain, and are quite nice in my opinion.

The main question you need to ask in evaluating whether an item creation feat is worthwhile is whether your DM is likely to allow you to simply shop for and buy any item you want. If the DM's only comment on hearing you want to buy a staff of power is "What color?" then item creation is probably a waste of time.

It is mostly a low magic world so i think it would just be DM items unless i can talk to him about it. I dont know how many Cleric lvls i am taking as well. So i might not even be able to make much to begin with.

Any others that you can think of? I am mostly geared for the Wonderous Item feat unless i can make a weapon that has a pernament spell placed inside (Like a Spell storing item that doesnt loose its spell)

Example

+1 Mace of Contagion (DC fort 14, 25% chance of occuring) Something like that. Almost like Neverwinter Nights videogame.
Must have the contagion spell when crafting the item.

Clerics can make all sorts of useful items.

On the wondrous item front, you have access to almost all of the buff spells, so that means Periapts of Wisdom, Belts of Giant Str, etc. You can make Pearls of Power to refresh your spells. You can make defensive wondrous items like Amulets of Protection (bonuses to saves a la Resistance or to AC via Deflection through Shield of Faith). Items like the Monk's Belt can also be made by clerics and your party druid will love you for it.

On the armor and weapons side I don't know why you couldn't make simple +X gear (magic weapon spell?) and holy equipment. You might be able to substitute some of your own energy damage spells for the given requirements if necessary.

If you have an allied mage or wizard then you can have them cast the requisite spells while you supply the XP and the feat to make the item. You can also pay an NPC to cast them. You can also use multiclassing to become a mystic theurge and cast them yourself (maybe through a scroll or wand) or just get a half rank in Use Magic Device (if you have decent charisma and wisdom) and rely on scrolls for the spells you don't have access to. Domain spells might prove helpful as well.

Gotta go with the wand crafting - healing wands, Buffing wands are perinial favoriates, wands of silence will allow you you to shut down any caster (ready action to cast behind target)
a wand of align weapon is nessary for any demon hunt. In a large party a wand of bless will do wonders.
Brew potion will cut down the costs for the whole party, but wands produce better bang for the buck. Just concentrate on spells without saves, and with few level dependant effects.

The good side of being a cleric crafting items is that you know a large number of spells, which are requisites for a large number of items. In our campaign this has meant that a cleric is a very good magic-crafter, especially if he makes lots of minor items.

However DMs are usually very generous and just let the wizard find any scroll on sale, which means that with this option, the wizard is back as the best crafter.

OTOH the ideas of wands is probably the best you can do. Wands are the cheapest items (per charge) and healing wands are extremely useful for any party - and you can switch them with other divine casters.
