Clerics: DMM & Ways to Increase Spell DCs

Angelus Nox

First Post
This is my fist time posting here, but I regularly lurk around here for character ideas. I just have a few questions that pertain to a cleric that I intend to build.

First about DMM:
Is DMM usefull if I don't use it for persist spell or abuse nightsticks? I really don't want to do either of those, and to make use of it more than 1x or 2x/day, the amount of Extra Turning seems like a huge feat cost. If I intend to quicken, etc spells I think I would be better off with multiple instances of sudden quicken.

Second is about spell DCs:
I plan to use evil and miind-controlling spells. My plan is to increase the DC by perhaps using DMM and Heighten spell.
I have an alternate plan, but it seems to be unlikely. Spell Focus(evil) says it doesn't stack with other spell foci, does this include Malign Spell Focus or just the original Spell focus feat? If it stacks with Malign Spell Focus, Is it worth it to use DMM with corrupt spell to increase the DC of non-evil spells when I really need it?

Sudden Quicken is a big investment, and you can't take it more than once. You probably want metamagic rods, which are 3/day but fairly expensive for lower levels. The main benefit to DMM, Persist or not, is that it comes online much, much earlier and cheaper than other metamagic reducers, even at level 1 if you work at it. It's useful mostly for persisting and quickening, and once you get metamagic rods it's not as useful for quickening.

It doesn't stack with Malign Spell Focus, as it's still a Spell Focus feat. (Incidentally, it's the 3.5 version of the 3.0 Malign Spell Focus, as can be seen from the +2 DC → +1 DC change and the fact that ur-priest prerequisites changed from Malign Spell Focus to Spell Focus (Evil), so your DM could disallow it on those grounds anyway.)

One metamagic feat that I've seen be a lifesaver combined with DMM is reach spell. The ability to throw a ranged cure spell in a pinch has saved more than a few characters in my games.
