Clips from the dreadful Fantastic Four movie

Whereas I -- and geeks on the places I hang out -- have no problem with Alba, aren't in the least disturbed by Reed's youthful look, and think McMahon is perfect for Doom. And I read the FF for years and years. And, but for the older-look Thing, I think the effects in that clip look great for pre-production stuff. Just great!

To say that I think this is a finished clip and thats how i "know" its dreadful is just silly. Because "dreadful" will always be an opinion, not a fact.
Of course I didn't claim that you thought it was finished. Just that you felt that the clip indicated that it would be awful, which isn't even a slightly silly conclusion, even if it's not what you meant.

I'd say McMahon looks to be a good Doom. I had also heard that they were going for a comedic angle to the movie, I and hope to the heavens that it isn't the case. Aside from the rumor that I had heard that Dooms armor was going to be organic, and the fear that he will be American, I think it doesn't look too bad.

My biggest gripe is with Reed being so young. He's definitely should have been cast older, though my understanding is that they're trying to follow the Ultimate FF line, which also portrays a younger Reed Richards.

As for Doom, quite frankly I can forgive his costume being changed, if he's still a bad-ass megalomaniac like he is in the comics. What worries me is he won't be.

I think I should reserve judgment. As one of you have stated, you were unsure of an actor until 5 minutes into the movie, a movie which seems to deviate from the comic book lore.

Reed shouldn't be that much older. Remember that they grey temples were a side effect of the cosmic rays.

The worst part for me is the "organic" Doom armor. I hated that idea when I read it in Ultimate FF, and hate it in the movie. What's wrong with a genius building a power armor, dammit!? :D

My problem with Jessica Alba as Sue is that Sue goes invisible, so there's less Alba to see! :D

I don't know how it's going to turn out in the movie (organic or not), but if it is organic, I'd say their rationale is similar to the "organic web-shooter" argument- that it's somehow more realistic to have superpowers gained by mutation/cosmic rays/etc. than it is to have someone create a technological marvel that has yet to be created in the "real world".

Not saying that it's logical or reasonable to believe this, but that seems to be the prevailing opinion in Hollywood. Screwy, huh?

The thing is, they have established high technology in the movies. Cerebro. The X-Jet thingee. The Green Goblin tech. Doc Ock's tentacles. Hulk's bioengineering. There already is a precedent, so I don't particularly see why they couldn't have Doom make his own armor.
