Close Wounds (2nd) better than Revivify (5th)?

Being able to cast Close Wounds anytime is great. Especially for a Favoured Soul.

Your tank got critted by an ogre and is still standing, but woozy? Close Wounds That should save him from an instant death on another crit.

That vampire almost dead, and about to escape? Close Wounds

My group had a fight in a tower once, and the sorcerer was hurt and knocked unconscious, then pushed into the open shaft. The Favored Soul, below on the stairs, cast Close Wounds as the sorcerer came hurtling past, bringing him back to consciousness so he could cast Feather Fall. They were best friends after that.

Close Wounds is great.

You'll also want to look into Delay Death, when you get 4th level spells.

But yes, close wounds is fantastic.

And if you're looking for more "coming back from the dead" cheese, combining revenance and revivify is pretty fantastic (and full of gooey cheesy goodness).

Note that close wounds is another example of why Augment Healing is so good ... that extra 4 points of healing will often make a huge difference.

And I can't see any reason that two close wounds spells wouldn't "stack." It's just healing, albeit quicker than usual.

Add on Imbued Healing too!

Hmmm. Until reading this thread, I have been thinking that Close Wounds is a rather useless spell as it heals only small number of Hps. But now if combined with Augment Healing feat and Healing Kicker ability of Combat Medic, 1d4 + 9 hp plus 13 temporary hps? Seems not bad.

And empowering this spell can be good too. In that case, with Augment Healing this spell heals (1d4+5) x1.5 +4 or (1d4+9) x 1.5? Anyway, as it is just a 2nd-level spell, Lesser Metamagic Rod of Empower will be useful.

Soul of Light, a spell from C.Champion, lasts for about an hour and adds +2 hp per spell level to healing spells. Basically like gettng Augment Healing again.

Is there any easy way that a character with a set spell list, like the Healer from MH, could add these spells to her list?

I can't think of any method cleally legal by RAW. But as Healer is indeed a poorly made class, some DMs may allow Healer to take Extra Spell feat to learn any new Conjuration (Healing) spells.

Can you spontaneously cast an empowered spell? Could I swap in an empowered Close Wounds on the occasion that I knew a wound needed a bigger heal?
