[Closed] Portrait Artist With A Twist...

Warden

First Post
Emerald Press PDF Publishing is looking for an artist to work on some black-and-white interiors and a full-colour cover piece for their upcoming Campaign Options: Alignment PDF. We are initially looking for portraits of various characters in contrast to their usual alignment or as an absolute representation of their alignment (i.e. not just evil, but Super-Evil!!!), along with any other ideas the artist may have in co-operation with the publisher and authors of the project. We are looking for art based on realism, rather than crazy action scenes, while depicting monstrous creatures. Someone with a good eye for detail and subtle add-ons (i.e. picture of a face hidden in the demon's armour) is a definite bonus.

Campaign Options: Alignment is a PDF nearly two years in the making. It details a host of optional concepts for enhancing the alignment system in your campaign to more than just a recommended course of action in the d20 game. Each of the five major chapters details an aspect of alignment - Good, Evil, Neutral, Chaos, and Law - to a higher level with real-world examples to flesh them out and create personalities instead of characters. It also creates a higher level of awareness in alignments, converting them into universal forces that keep the multiverse flowing. Options will exist for open-alignment classes, magical and non-magical alignment changes, plus using alignment as a religion.

The hired artist will receive a $50 one-time payment for their services, plus $1/copy sold after the release of the PDF. The initial payment will be offered as soon as all completed artwork has been handed in. Monthly payments based on sales figures will be made around the 15th of the following month.

If you have any questions or would like to express your interest in the project, contact Todd Crapper at warden@emeraldpress.net. Please provide a link to some sample artwork - do not upload files with your email.

I will be going through the submissions offered and hope to have a decision before the end of this week. I will send out a reply and answer to everyone that has sent an email for this. Thanks everyone.

I would be interested in doing some work on thus project. Examples of my work are on my site. http://users.gloryroad.net/~stonecrow/index.html.htm

Thanks to everyone for sending in their site links and showing interest in this project. We have chosen our artist -- Eric Magie -- after some careful deliberation and looking up the word "deliberation" in the dictionary.

I will send out a personal email to everyone that applied, but this open call is now closed.
