Habitually, I avoid "Me too" posts.

Read it. Didn't quite understand it (or I2K's post quite), but figured that it would become clear when he implemented it. I'm also not sure how either really addresses my original post, but I've semi-accepted that my POV is probably unique there, so I've kind of given up on that one.

Basically, I didn't see anything bad (and you guys already know I'll speak up then), and couldn't argue for it either, so I just kept my mouth shut.

OOC A mephit summoning another mephit, if this is similar to the summon monster spell, then doesn't it take a full round to cast? That's the way I always thought it would go. Is it just a standard action then and the summoned creature can react right away as well?

The summoned monster acting immediately is described in the spell, so that part is clear.

Its the other part that is a judgement call - is the mephit using the summon monster spell, or the summon mephit spell-like ability? Spell-like abilities are assumed to be standard actions unless the ability is identical to the spell or is described in the text. Since the summon mephit spell-like ability has a 25% chance of working and has no duration, I consider it different enough from the summon monster spell to be a SA.

I2K and GL: let's play it by ear. I2K was Mr. Fancy Pants by getting the first reply in (as though cutting back on the booze and drugs would help my reflexes...). If Gansk is stuck in any arena waiting for a competitor, how about we just use the "first-one-in" rule, so that it keeps rolling along? Whoever notices the delay first (and Gansk, please feel free to prompt) and has the books can jump in.

The spectators at the Mechanus area are greatly relieved (although barely show it) that someone else has to fight those annoying mephits.

The CG crowd boos off the spriggan - poor showing! its says your evil at least twice in the description! you even came in on the wrong side of the arena! "A member of the dark court If I ever saw one." the nymph says cattily to the dryad.

in response to your question here, I belive the ability that's causing all the problems is the Spectator's Spell-Turning supernatural ability. It's not how I would have described the effects - I would have made it clear that your own effects were being returned - but it's Gansk's game.

Strangely enough, you probably would have been better off using the unbodied's touch attack.

I'm also not to terribly sure about the forced use of empty mind, but it is generally to your benefit, and I've certainly missed enough "last line" rulings that it's quite possibly correct behavior.
