It says they're to be 7" tall. Nice for a setpiece Big Bad, but not so useful for day-to-day gaming.

I like those RAFM (not RAMF) minis a lot! They've just started a new line of Modern day investigators.

(And I had little trouble putting together the elder things--I bought and painted 4--and shoggoths. Tip: use epoxy and/or modeling putty, and you're all set.)

Mark Copplestone just released the first sets in his new line, Gangsters: Mad Dogs with Guns. They look very, very cool. The Back of Beyond line is also a great source for 1920s investigators.

And there's always the pre-painted Dunwich Detectives from em-4. Not great, but better than you'd expect, and hey...10 pre-painted metal minis for $40 ain't bad.

Thanks Tom! Those RAFM baddies are very cool - not the cleanest sculpts, but definitely creepy and original!

Some of them are better than others, naturally. I really like the byakhees and the hounds of Tindalos. I could take a few of the other ones, too.

But the Great Cthulhu sculpt I don't like at all, and given the effort required to put it together and paint it, this SOTA toy is a no-brainer substitute.

Assuming he actually ever makes an appearance in any game I run, of course...
