[CoC] Man found after two months at sea

The tingling means it’s working!
For me, the best part of the Call of Cthulhu rulebooks is the listing of weird historical events in the back of the book. Here's a recent one to add to your "flavor" file:

Take a look at that guy's eyes. He's lost quite a bit of sanity. Wonder what he saw while adrift in the Atlantic?

If you run a CoC game, might be fun to print that image and use him for an NPC.

For some reason, I find this statement from the man rather unsettling:
"The Coast Guard is very nice," Watson said. "I just need some food. I'll be all right. I wouldn't mind having some chocolate pudding."
Two months adrift, possibly stranded on R'lyeh for several hours....and he just wants some pudding.

Cthulhu fhtagn!

Hong, does that mean I can put you on a boat for two months and call you a wimp too?

I'm sure your comment wasn't said out of spite, but it sort of struck me the wrong way. I mean, here's a man who's been alone on a boat for 60 days, surviving probably on what he could find, retching seawater and with a bad case of diarrhea because of the dehydration and salty enviroment, and maybe some of it threw a switch in his mind as isolation often does, and we dare to call him a wimp.

I dunno ... No matter how many other people have stayed out there involuntarily, no matter for how long I still find it admirable that this guy survived more or less intact.

Regards
Toft

That's... that's inhuman, man!

Hong "It's lonesome away from your kindred and all/On the deep ocean wide where the great right whales call/but there's nothing so lonesome, so morbid or drear/than to drift in the waves in a boat with no beer" Ooi
