[CoC] Need an image scanned from the book...

Yes, I do actually own the book, I just don't have a scanner. :(

What I need specifically is the theater map (the players' version) from the module The End of Paradise included in the book. I'm planning to run the adventure in an online format and would appreciate it if someone could scan it for me or point me somewhere online that I could get an image file of it. Thanks in advance!

You do realise, don't you, that whether you own a copy of the book or not is irrelevant? Unless that image is marked as exempt from copyright (ie. it's open content, or there's a waiver), then you're asking people to break copyright.

I apologize, didn't realize it was such a big deal.

I kind of doubt they would care though, considering that all but one of our group actually own the book. My reason for not just telling them to look at the book is that the map is smack-dab in the middle of the DM's notes for the adventure.

Better if it's not posted... we like to avoid that type of thing, for a number of reaons (see the thread in the Meta forum about posting stuff from the Epic Level book).

NeoWolf,

Why not ask the folks at WotC if they would post the maps? I think they may be opened minded enough to realize you are asking for a game play aid, much akin to the player character sheet.

Later!

Again, it's besides the point.

(1) It doesn't matter whether you and your mates each own a boatload of the material in question, you're still asking people to break copyright. It might not seem like warez to you, but I can assure you that publishers will think otherwise.

(2) EN World and these forums rely heavily on a close, informal relationship with publishers. The benefits are mutual, however if people start trading warez on these boards, the publishers would desert EN World quicker than you can blink while under a haste spell ... a second blink after that and the "cease and desist" threats start flooding in.

We've all been there :), but this is not the way around that particular problem.

BUT, you can take the book to anyplace that makes copies and copy the page yourself (it's for your own personel use); they won't do it if you ask them because of the copyright laws, though.

If all else fails, you could draw a b/w sketch on the computer with some sort of paint program... Not perfect, of course - but then, it doesn't have to be, does it?
