[CoC] Resident Evil!!??

You don't even need to use the Elder Gods to run Resident Evil with CoC rules; all the RE monsters are genetic mutations (even if they do appear to be Lovecraft rip-offs). There's no magic involved. Nothing says you can't have Umbrella working for the Elder Gods, however, and that might be even more plausible (as their experiments are scientifically impossible in the real world).

I would think a Spycraft/CoC mix would present the most accurate recreation of the Resident Evil series, with characters playing STARS team members, mercs, or Umbrella agents. The scientist class from Pulp Heroes would be a definite one to include for those Umbrella mad scientists!

I once ran a Resident Evil RPG. It was based on the "Don't Look Back" rules. The characters had to escape Raccoon City (just the generic scenario). When I bought CoC, the thought did occur to me to run an RE adventure. Then the thought occurred to me that I should run a campaign based on the "Night of the Living Dead/Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead" movie trilogy in which the characters had to escape the zombie-ridden America and start life and civilization anew on an island in the Pacific. Each adventure would take place in a different city in America, getting closer and closer to their goal. Oh well. I'm getting off track here.

I once ran a Shadowrun of the Living Dead Campaign. Needless to say it was interesting. The characters were having to try to deal with the spread of the dead and the social implications of it (meaning martial law or anarchy). We didn't get very far because our group self destructed (why do people always seem to move away when games get interesting?), but I did a lot of writing on the rules and storyline. I always thought that the Living Dead movies would have made an awesome cap system to apply to an RPG, maybe one of these days I'll actually get around to doing it...

To play Resident Evil, IMHO, the best rules are Zombie: all flesh must be eaten. In fact, the rules are almost ideal for such a setting, and even the author says Resident Evil was his main inspiration. :)

All Flesh is a pretty good rules set, despite not being a fully-fledged "d20" system. With a little work, it could be assimilated.

Well, it could be easy changed into d20, but I like its fast and simple system, it's ideal for introducing new players to RPG :)
