CoH downloadable demo??

Is anyone aware of a free downloadable, playable demo for City of Heroes?

As a rule MMORPG's don't have demos. I have never seen a MMORPG that had a demo.

There was a 14-day Free Trial of Star Wars Galaxies that ended a little while back...and Horizons allows you to download the game and play for 7 days free, then after that you can just activate the account and never have to actually BUY the game.

But an 'actual' demo? Not really something MMORPGs do...and from what I know, CoH hasn't done any free trial.

Keep an eye on their site or news reports, occasionally the MMORPGs will have promotions where they give you a free week or two of playing to try and hook you into the game. I've seen Anarchy Online and EQ do this, usually you'll need a broadband line to DL the game engine (I think the EQ promotion actually came as a CD on the back of one of the game magazines).

before COH came out they had afree open Beta

Currently they offer the first month free, however you need to buy the game (you cant download it)
