Colossal Space Creature

Ben Madden

Villager
I want to add a Colossal Space Creature to a scifi game that I'm running
I can, of course create my own, but I'm asking the community if they know of any RPG resources that might include such a creature
I'm primarily looking for description, gameplay flavor, and a picture
I've looked in all of the Cypher System stuff (the Wharn Interceptor might work), Starfinder, Vast Grimm, various Star Wars, and Far Sun
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Tonguez!
But that's too big...
I'm running an Alternity Star*Drive campaign set in the Verge using the Cypher System rules
I'm looking for an asteroid sized creature that's protecting her young who resemble smaller spherical asteroids

Well, here's something that's likely too small: AD&D 2E's Spelljammer had a creature called an astereater, but it was generally only 8-12 feet in diameter. Here's a link with some details and a picture of an astereater:

You'd need to advance the creature somewhat to get it to Colossal size, but it may be a good place to start.

That's not really helpful in terms of defining size. Real world asteroids vary tremendously in size, from ones smaller than that astereater above to over 580 miles in average diameter in the case of Ceres - and that's just the ones we've spotted in our own system, which are a tiny fraction of the estimated 1-2 million bodies at least a half mile in diameter occupying the region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. There's nothing but guesswork on how many smaller bodies there may be, and different scientists have differing definitions of how small they go before they're properly considered something else - dust particles, for ex.

How big are you after in terms of feet or meters for both adult and child?

A Colossus is a creature from the Spelljammer, they are giant humanoids (ship sized) that float through space.
Spelljammer also has giant space whales, giant plant ships and living asteroids.
Megaliths are living planets from BECMI D&D.

Also
Zaratan's a giant turttles....

In all seriousness, the question you need to answer is “what do you want you space leviathan to do?”

That will help focus everyone on your desired results.
