Colt Python in one hand and a Long Sword in the other... What are the penalties?

I'd probably give him a -2 to attack with the gun at least. But that's mainly to be realistic because a gun is not all that easy to use with one hand.

Based on just the rules though, I'd go with the no penalty crowd.

Handguns are quite easy to fire one-handed, it just takes practice.

I'd go with no penelty for either. One in each hand leaves you with no free manipulators unless you have a tail or brain tentacle or the like, and makes both your weapons painfully obvious.

They can be fired one handed, but using two hands provides a much more stable firing platform, especially if you're making more than one attack in a round. Also, isn't a Python a revolver? That'd be extremely difficult to reload with one hand (not that a semi-auto wouldn't.)

That depends on the shooter. I figured one would use the pistol to soften/weaken the target before closing in for a melee.
That's what I mainly thought too. I figure that Improved Two-Weapon Fighting (the one that allows you to use a melee weapon and a ranged weapon at once rather than using one at a time) would be useful for, say, slicing up one guy with the sword while blasting another guy with the Python during the same round.
