The Samurai I play in BardStephenFox's game just amde second level, and gained his first level of the Samurai class from Complete Warrior (making him Psychic Warrior 1/Samurai 1). I'm really interested in making him more of a strategist, since at this point he is nominally the leader of the group, being that the rest of the party is either in the employ of my character's Lord, or in forced servitude of my Lord (as punishment for a crime).
So my question is: What startegy's do you like to use in d20 combat? What can I do besides try to set up flanking situations?
If it matters, heres a breakdown of the party:
Psychic Warrior 1/Samurai 1 (Me)
Shaman 3 (From the Shamans Handbook by Green Ronin*)
Martial Artist 2 (From some d20 book, a PDf I believe, but I don't know for sure*)
Cleric 2 (Service of an Ocean god, uses a net when he can)
Barbarian 2
Wanderer 2 (maybe 3, from a Swashbuckling d20 book, again not exactly sure of the book*)
Ranger 2 (Archery Path)
Rogue 2 (Maybe, the player may be creating a new player, I'm not really sure)
*I have no idea exactly what these classes can do beyond a very general sense: the Shaman cast divine spells and works with spirits, the Wanderer is a skill master,w ith all kinds of skills. The Martial Artist is like a monk, but with combat style tyoe feature (I think).
So, what strategies can we sue in combat? And thanks in advance for helping out.
