Did anyone pick this up this week? Any thoughts?

Some of this is familiar from a Roll & Play PDF holiday expansion to their Gamemasters Guide a few years ago, but about half of it seems to be all new.

DM: So Ted, you are playing the Pine Tree...as your party is engaging the 10 Gremlins in battle...what do you do?

Ted: I stand there and shake my limbs ferociously...

DM: The Gremlins laugh and throw spears at you.

Ted: Do they hit and how much damage do I take?

DM: They hit, but do minimal damage. They chip your bark...but as your skin is literally a barkskin, and underneath is wood...you take no Damage. You are a Tree. Their spears don't do enough damage to hurt a tree.

Ted: Can I attack back at them. Can I advance towards them threateningly and throw use a spear to stab one?

DM: Ted...you are a Tree. You stand solidly. You try to walk towards them...but you seem rooted to the spot...literally...rooted. Your branches sway and a spear goes wildly at them...so roll for that...but...you are a Tree.

Meanwhile...the Gremlins see one hit by his own spear (that fell from the Pine Tree) and laugh at their allies misfortune...then start to light the torches...

I bought it.

The production value is high; as with other One Shot Wonders the maps and art are gorgeous, and the layout and story design are very tight, making it easy to quickly grasp the core ideas and run the adventure. These are a little beefier than the previous OSW that I have purchased; each should be good for an entire session. They will adapt easily into most settings. They are immediately available on the VTT, as well.

Whether or not they are for you is really a question of tone and style. They are whimsical. If you want a holiday-themed one-shot or have a campaign where this kind of adventure has a place, then these are a great deal.

Imagine if we had more than three or four studios whom WotC allow on DDB.

Also, interesting business model where these studios need to beg for hundreds of thousands of dollars, to make a product they then sell to others...and then they need to beg for hundreds of thousands of dollars again.
