Comment on my adventure designed to use the Leadership Feat

This is the summary of the adventure I am planning to run next session, which is tommorrow. This is based on the assumption that the PCs agree to go along with King Azoun in the beginning. If not, I have a few "side quests" that they can do to fill up the session, such as various attacks by orcs, border raiders, etc.

One of the PCs acquired the Leadership Feat last session. I wanted a way for the PC to acquire his followers beyond them just arriving over time. Hopefully, this adventure will be an entertaining way of gaining followers. I came up with this idea based on the great ideas from the people here at EN World.

Maybe you can even use something similar in your own campaign. Since my campaign is in FR, this is very FR specific.

Comments are appreciated and welcome.

The PCs spend time looking for ways to repair Brightstone Keep, an abandoned fortress in the Stonelands. The PCs hope to establish a base of operations and pursue the title, Baron of the Stonelands, which is being offered by King Azoun. The stipulation is that the Baron of the Stonelands must clear a good portion of the land of monsters and raiders, which benefits Cormyr by keeping its borders safe and protected. During this time, the PCs are approached by an old warrior by the name of Rhigaerd, who is actually King Azoun in disguise. King Azoun is rumored to travel his kingdom in disguise, to learn first hand the state of his people. King Azun is heading to a secret location within the Stonelands looking for a Sword of Corymr. A Sword of Cormyr is actual a group of minor nobles, having nothing better to do, who have agreed to be placed in suspended animation, to be awakened during time of need. Each noble family has an undisclosed amount of tombs have been placed within the Stonelands, holding Swords of Cormyr. This particular Sword of Cormyr is composed of minor nobles from the Bleth family. King Azoun has received reports that the Fire Knives have discovered the location of a particular Sword of Cormyr. The Fire Knives are a group of assassins dedicated to destroying the nobility of Cormyr. The Fire Knives learned of the Bleth Sword because a few members of the Bleth family are actually members of the Fire Knives as well. The Sword of Cormyr is highly guarded secret known only by King Azoun, the noble families of a particular Sword, and a trusted few. However, King Azoun has also received word that the PCs plan to establish a stronghold in the Stonelands, but has yet to be approached by the PCs for permission or assistance. King Azoun plans to enlist the aid of the PCs in stopping the Fire Knives threat to the Bleth Sword and sees this as a perfect opportunity to learn more about the PCs. If the PCs prove themselves during the adventure, King Azoun will consider them worthy to learn the purpose of the Bleth Sword and will allow the PCs to use the Bleth Sword as followers and staff for Brightstone Keep. King Azoun will not reveal the existance of the other Swords of Cormyr. King Azoun will give the PCs the necessary tokens required to awaken the Bleth Sword. The tokens will also identify the PCs as their new leaders, namely a PC that has acquired the Leadership Feat. In addition, the tomb may contain the amassed treasure of the minor nobles which the PCs are free to use as long as it benefits Cormyr in some way. King Azoun, still in the guise of Rhigaerd, will advise the PCs to travel to the capital of Suzail as as soon as possible, to seek an audience with the King in order to gain his permission and blessing to setup a stronghold within the Stonelands. King Azoun warns that if the PCs take their time, the King may see their stronghold as a challenge to his rulership without some formal show of respect. King Azoun will then part with the PCs using a teleportation item and await the arrival of the PCs. The PCs will have to journey through Tilverton, Arabel, and finally Suzail. Once in Suzail, the PCs will discover that their presence is expected and should be surprised to discover that their companion Rhigaerd was actually King Azoun all along. King Azoun will expect the PCs to swear fealty to the Crown and Cormyr. Once that is done, the PCs will receive the honorary status of Knight or an equal title of rank.

Sounds good. The only way I would change things is that since I would consider the swords to only be relatively high level/powerful, therefore worth preserving for future needs. So I would consider having Azoun hand picking some men to "award" your heroes with for the purpose of defending/clearing the Stonelands.

Sounds very good, and fits the flavor of Cormyr as I see it. However, make sure to account for potential problems and ways the PCs could warp your intentions.
