Numenera and The Strange use the same system, but are they compatible? I ask because I'm contemplating running a campaign in which characters are plucked out of time, and I'd like for the players to be able to choose from as broad a variety of options as possible when designing their PCs.

Also, is anyone aware of 3rd party products for either game?

They are all compatible. Infact theres a 3 dollar document they sell that talks about running the games together which I believe marries the settings. Mechanically? There is little to no difference.
 

That was the impression I got, but I wasn't sure. It can be difficult to guage mechanical power differences across games using the same systems.
